Juno lives in a remote Alaskan village with her grandma, who owns a motel. They both live and work at the motel. Juno had an isolated and lonely childhood; she was homeschooled for her entire life. She doesn't have any friends, but remains optimistic and doesn't really mind. Between lack of media consumption as well as connection with others her age she grew to be a bit naive and innocent for her age. She's shy and reserved, but not afraid to be herself and comfortable in her own skin.
