Profile

Ruby is a girl experienced in trauma. Her parents treated her as if she was a changeling, distant with an air of fear. Her grandmother Agatha was her source of stability and affection, a person who encouraged the idea that she was special and destined for great things. In fact, she was special in a way that terrified her. She is telepathic and interprets other people's thoughts as physical entities, whether that be butterflies and clouds, or horrific shadowy monsters. This makes high-stress situations such as funerals and arguments a horrifying ordeal.

Upon confiding to her parents, they sent her to Serenity Peaks Hospital under the impression that she was psychotic. While Ruby does believe herself to be mentally ill, she doesn't think she's schizophrenic. Aside from what she sees, she doesn't exhibit any other symptoms of schizophrenia. Ruby herself is very deadpan and shy, but she admires those who are strong and optimistic as their thought-forms are represented justly. This results in her being quite clingy.

Her partial albinism caused relentless bullying as a child, and people today still thinks she's a devil.

- She pencils in her brows and draws them on really thick.

- Her voice is somewhat deep, but her singing voice is quite soft and high.

- She's clueless about her sexuality but has a soft spot for women.

- She's prone to sensory overload.

- She has an affinity for stuffed animals.

- Before being admitted to the hospital, she was skilled in sewing and making her own plushies.

- The hospital only allowed her one item to bring and she brought a sweater she made herself.

- Despite what people think, she's not violent in the slightest.

- The hospital gives her Risperidone to treat her alleged schizophrenia, which obviously doesn't help as that is not what she has. The medication makes her suffer from nausea, loss of appetite, disordered thinking, reduced attention span, and insomnia.
