Xian Mei is soft spoken and usually keeps herself in the background. She is well mannered and gentle, albeit a little curious because of her timid nature. She can come off as extremely shy, but can show more of her energetic and brave side among good friends. She is extremely kind and calm natured, however she isn't afraid to point out Jiang Cheng's mistakes, but still in a calm manner. She has the patience of a saint and cares alot for Jiang Cheng going so far as to always stay by his side even during his most worst temper tantrums. She studies cultivation, but isn't highly skilled at it.
Appearance
Xian Mei has long dark brown hair and brown eyes. Her hair is mostly styled in a part bun while the rest of her long hair falls down to over her waist. She usually wears peach colored dresses with soft yellow tints, and always has a beautiful flower pin in her hair. She is considered to be average looking by the other young women that know her.
History
Xian Mei comes from a common family, and was barely noticed by other families for a very long time. Being a quite timid family in general they usually never took part in any community only when it was truly necessary or later when Xian Mei began learning cultivation.
Xian Mei was still relatively young during the Sunshot Campaign, but heard stories of all natures about the defeat of the Wen clan and Wei Wuxian's influence with demonic cultivation. She doesn't have a strong opinion on it, but the kindness Wei Wuxian showed towards the Wen remnants left her inspired.
Xian Mei eventually ends up joining the Ezhou Sect to study cultivation. During this time she follows them to the newly restored Yunmeng Jiang Sect where she would eventually meet with Jiang Cheng. However, meeting was a strong word as she barely spoke a word to him because of her shy nature. The young man did leave somewhat of a good impression on her when she saw his hold of leadership and confidence. She could see that while he seemed arrogant and bad-tempered, there was a part of him that desperately seeked affirmation, and assumed he has an inferiority complex. Over time she began to hold feelings for him, but hasn't been able to speak out these feelings for many years.
Xian Mei has truly fallen in love with Jiang Cheng after meeting him, but always assumes that those feelings will never become mutual. Nonetheless she likes to watch him from afar and help him with whatever troubles him. Even with plenty other cultivator women telling her that Jiang Cheng wasn't worth going after, she still believed him to have a different side to what he usually shows. This became clear for her when seeing that despite his threats towards his nephew Jin Ling, he still truly and deeply cares for him.
Xian Mei meets Jin Ling through Jiang Cheng. While they barely know eachother she still feels responsible for him and sees him as family. She tries to protect him as much as she can, but knowing Jin Ling to have somewhat of a reckless side to impress his uncle makes her give him the space he needs to do so.
