Basilisk

Despite popular belief, Basilisk is not part SkyWing.

His strange appearance simply comes from a genetic mutation, which resurfaces from the SandWing gene pool every thousand years or so. However, when he was born, his father accused his mother of cheating, and they collectively dumped him on the orphanage's doorstep, where he was quickly snatched up by Serpent's End.

Serpent's End were an underground organization working in the Scorpion Den that were only there for the money. When Basilisk grew older, he recieved training from Sakyu, an experienced SandWing assassin, along with Lappet and Hyrax, two SandWing/IceWing twins trying to hide from the IceWings. He graduated and became an assassin, taking smaller jobs before graduating to become one of Serpent's End's top assassins. However, he kept getting injured- unfortunately, the gene that makes him look so different gives him greater vunerability to injuries.

This is where a NightWing/SkyWing hybrid physician named Tarotreader came in. She is in debt to the organisation, and heals him whenever he's injured. Which is often. Tarotreader calls Serpent's End a mafia, when they're out of earshot of the guards, and tells him to escape. He hasn't. Yet.
