Appearance

Vlaziec is 175 cm (5'9") tall man with a robust and powerful body. His posture isn't that good, but he is well-balanced and his movement is calm, controlled and surprisingly light and smooth. Still, he can be very fast and agile if he needs to. He can also control well his expressions, and there's something unsettling about his overall appearance. His eyes are dark gray and his dark brown hair is slightly curly. His light skin is a bit tanned and he has moles. He has scars on his face.
He wears practical clothes and has three pendants on his neck; each pendant has a different surface so Vlaziec knows without seeing which one he is currently touching. He also has three wedding rings on his left hand.

Personality

Vlaziec is an independent and stubborn man with strong emotions. He has never been afraid of making contact with the folk as it was a necessity back in the days when he was young and needed to make money on the streets. His social nature is still present, even though he had to choose a more reserved way after moving to Oran so that he could stay incognito. Keeping a low profile doesn't really suit him since he enjoys spending time with people, but he is good at lying and is able to keep his cover quite well. Even though he seems like a chatty guy, it's not exactly easy to tell what he is really thinking about since he is an expert to control his expressions and tone. Still, he is fast to lose his temper, and his tranquility can be turned into threatening in a second, and he's not afraid to pick fights. His unpredictable behavior can be lethal at its worst; him patting on a shoulder with a smile is not always a friendly gesture if one knows his true nature.

Vlaziec definitely has some good in him, but a violent and criminal lifestyle has made him deliberate and suspicious of others. His indifferent attitude to death is also quite alarming. As an occultist he sees the folk as an unused resource, and he has killed for making some good money out of the bodies. He doesn't enjoy killing, though, and to redeem his guilt he tries to be emotionally present in the last moments of his victims and prays the gods for forgiveness. He is exceptionally passionate about the murder of his father and plans about murdering his wife, and he is not able to rationalize his feelings.

While Vlaziec has this dark and dangerous side, he is able to target his strong emotions into positive direction. He is extremely loyal to them who have earned his trust, and with friends he is open and his behavior is even excessively goofy. Even though he snaps quickly, he can also calm down as quickly, and he is not usually resentful. He is forgiving but doesn't apologize if there's no need for it. He is perceptive, learns fast and he has a good memory. While working, he is patient and systematically thinks things through and he expects nothing but perfection of himself.

Backstory

Vlaziec was born in a small village in the nation of Undhom and he was the oldest child of five. The family was poor, and Vlaziec had to drop out of school to take odd jobs to make some money. His father was a violent alcoholic, and the situation at home was so unbearable a thirteen-year-old Vlaziec ran away from home feeling deep hatred toward his father. An occultist had seen him on the streets and felt pity on him, so he gave Vlaziec a job as an errand boy. Over the years the occultist started to teach Vlaziec some basic spells. Even though Vlaziec felt he finally had some solid ground under his feet, he couldn't shake off his hate for his father, and at the age of nineteen he murdered his father in his sleep and get rid of the body with spells.

Vlaziec got better with the magic and he was interested in learning some more questionable spells. His master was worried about him, so he shove him off to go learn illegal spells somewhere else. Vlaziec moved to the capital city and got himself a new master who taught him spells that were powerful but required folk body parts. The clients were willing to pay good amount of these ingredients, so Vlaziec was able to make a good deal of money with the killing job. He was doing financially fine, and he had time to look around. As an ethnic minority he experienced systematic repression practiced by the government and to make things better he joined a group of radical activists and was taking part in various attacks towards the government and the emperor. After a failed attack the group had to stay hidden for a while, and during these couple of silent years Vlaziec married Dirrana, a fellow activist, and they got a daughter they named Zdalnya. After her birth Vlaziec didn't go for the corpses anymore and made money as an honorable occultist.

After the war the revolutionary groups started to rise again. Vlaziec was fighting on the streets more and more often and broke out from the jail more than once with his radical friends. After the group started to plan the assassination of the emperor, Dirrana begged her husband to stay home for the sake of his family. Vlaziec didn't listen to her and Dirrana stormed away with Zdalnya just a day before the assassination attempt.

Vlaziec decided to focus on his family's needs after the emperor's death. At first everything seemed fine, but then the attempt failed catastrophically and Vlaziec was lucky to escape the palace alive. With a help of a fellow activist, he fled to the nation of Sanae and got himself a new identity. On his way to the city of Oran he had time to think about the incident and he found it very suspicious that everything failed so badly and Dirrana had left just before it. He decided to find his treacherous wife one day and kill her.

• Vlaziec was created in 2020. I played him in Kaupunki nimeltä Oran (inactive, in Finnish only). It was a text-based rpg taking place in an urban fantasy world with 1920's vibes.
• Vlaziec's alignment is most likely a chaotic neutral. Even though he is able to commit some really horrible things, he doesn't really fall into the evil sector. I don't know really, it's hard to say, he is quite complex character and I'm still learning about him.
