     → presumably from sælig, which means blessed, virtuous, holy or happy. contrast with unsǣliġ meaning unhappy, bringing misery, wretched or unfortunate.
Faraday - Irish Gaelic Ó Fearadaigh "descendant of Fearadach", a personal name probably based on fear "man", perhaps meaning literally "man of the wood".
