About

Being born with no outstanding intellect or talents, Zion's one redeeming quality is his ability to empathize and care for others no matter their circumstances. If he were more of a social butterfly, he'd probably be rather popular amongst his peers. Unfortunately, his timidity prevents him from interacting with others, and instead have landed him in the good graces of many animals. For years, Zion treated the strays in his hometown as his most precious friends, healing and feeding them when they needed it, and as such, most of the strays recognize him and will follow him when he's out alone in town.

Personality

Though those close to him regard Zion as someone precious, he himself can't see himself in the same regard. Unconfident, reserved, and naive, Zion sees himself as someone painfully average in both personality and intellect, and though he's grateful his loved ones choose to remain by his side, he has no idea what they stay for. He has trouble keeping up the mood in fun conversations, and is even more useless when it comes to studies, often taking up other's time to ask for help during study sessions. He can't hang out for long on weekdends or after work because he has to go feed the strays, or check up on the grandpa living next door.

Zion's upbringing causes him to measure his self worth by his achievements rather than internal qualities, and because of this fails to realize what others see in him. A kind, but stupid boy, he strives for praise from those he loves as affirmation that they care for him, and though his brother and his friends tend to indulge in him, his parents are rather distracted by their rapidly deteriorating relationship to pay attention to him.

History

To put it simply, Zion was born as a symbol of unrequited love for both his mother and his father. His mother, a cold and brash woman, had abandoned her family to pursue his father in their adult years, having fallen for him at first sight. His father, a gentle and serene man, had already fallen for someone at the time, and had refused her flirations. Eventually, the one he initially had feelings for fell for another, and he relented, choosing to marry the mother albiet reluctantly. To his mother, he was the failure who would never bring her the attention of the man she longed for, while his father regarded him as the final lock in this prison they call a marriage. In this way, the three lived together, with Zion never understanding why his house always lacked the warmth he saw with families on television, until his father adopted a boy with blue eyes. Augustus Corbyn, now Augustus Idris had been sent to the orphanage after his mother had passed, and his father lost custody. His sudden appearance in the family brought with him a hurricane it seemed, as his mother screamed and yelled, not wanting anything to do with the child. Leading his new younger stepbrother away from the scene, Zion heard his mother insist that she knew it was "her child". It was only later that he understood that Augustus was the child of the one his father had loved, and bringing him in had started a game between his parents with them as the pawns.

Academics, extracurriculars, and even hobbies were overseen by his mother, who tailor made his schedule to try to gain his father's favor. Unfortunately, Zion was never able to live up to her expectations, and was only met with the disregard of his father and disappointment of his mother. Augustus, on the other hand, seemed to be a prodigy in everything he did, being showered with praises by his father, which only served to rile up his mother even more. Though the two brothers didn't interact early on, it all changed when there was a noticeable dip in Augustus' grades and a sudden stall in his achievements. His mother had mocked that Augustus had finally reached his limit, but Zion shared a room with Augustus, and knew the other was still keeping up with schoolwork just fine. Purchasing a notebook, Zion's first attempt at seriously reaching out to Augustus was through the use of a shared diary, and through it realized that Augustus was deliberately messing with his results in hopes of lowering the tension, and takiong the heat off Zion, whom he felt guilty towards. Hearing this, Zion was greatly moved, but insisted that Augustus not stop his potential here on his account, and the two promised to strive for success not because of their parent's feud, but so they could help each other move out as fast as possible. The two didn't have to wait too long.

During his high school years, Zion met with a mysterious man with blue eyes, who asked him to pass along a letter to his father. Thinking nothing of it, Zion did as he was told, and the day after the next, his father disappeared. His mother, after reading the letter he'd left behind, went mad with devastation, and was later found in bed, with an empty pill body on her bedside stand. They had found her early enough that she was able to be rushed to the hospital, but she had slipped into a coma and had yet to wake up. Two weeks after, they found Zion's father, his bank account drained of all his money. The autopsy showed that he died by strangulation. Eventually, his mother woke up, but had to be admitted to an asylum. Augustus and Zion were passed along to their grandparents on his mother's side, where they then grew up to adulthood.

Now that was all super depressing but hey he owns a pet cafe with his boyfriend now so whoo!

• Has a pleasant singing voice, but always sings quietly when in the prescence of others.
