Background:
Lofyn is known as one of the 'afflicted', attacked during the night by the warped beasts that lurk within the depths of the desolate wasteland warrens. Nevertheless, this affliction never would have happened if she had not taken the decision to shield her own grandmother from the blows that came. Though the beasts were beaten back through the timely intervention of a passing patrol, the damage had already been done. In the months that followed the young woman began to transform into the rabid and hungering monster that her own people had come to fear.

There are no doubt those within the world who regret their actions, but despite the challenges that she now faces, this is not one of those times for her. In the grand scheme of things she did what she saw as necessary and right, and though her kind have chosen to regard her with suspicion and concern she has still managed to protect those she was closest too. 

With no known cure Lofyn had little choice but to seek out myth, legend and magic - a decision that would draw scorn from a people like her's who had long abandoned such concepts generations ago.

Setting out into the desolate wastes, she left behind her former home in part to find a cure for what ailed her, but also to use her 'affliction' to her advantage. Though transforming into something with little control, the increased strength and endurance provide her with the traits necessary to pose a considerable threat to the warped beasts that threaten her kind. While she stands to lose herself to madness and she too will become 'warped' in time, she has not yet lost herself to despair.

While rumours of a cure exist, scarce whispers on the wind, Lofyn continues to wander in search of the mysterious beings, plants and other magical items that might well save her. Though she has yet to find success, she firmly believes that while she has the capacity for thought and continues to have purpose, she will do what is necessary to seek out and find what she needs.

...Little does she know that those whispers hold truth to them and somewhere out there in the depths of the wasteland there most definitely is a cure.

All she need do is hold on for just a little longer.
