A cheerful and good natured creature that has a softer and more gentle heart then what his large and intimidating stature might imply. He has a love of beautiful and delicate things, and he tries to tend to them as delicately as a croc might be able to.
He's pretty social, open and honest about things.
Despite his soft and gentle heart, he isn't a total fool and doesn't like being bullied or pushed around and won't stand for it. He can however overestimate his own strength and sometimes go too far, making him feel guilty about it.
He's been bullied in the past for his oddness, so he's come to be a little warry of trusting people, though it doesn't make him any less open.
History
Archie was abandoned and left for dead as a small hatchling. His mother shocked and appalled that she had been able to have such an abomination and abandoning him in an alley of the hopes that he would die.
It was never to be however, a lion hearing the weak and dying chirps of the creature and saving him. Bringing him to the hospital where they worked on warming and tending to the now sickly baby, the hatchling having an awful infection.
He survived it all, and then was shipped between temporary foster homes and orphanages, never kept by anyone for long. He was too much of an oddity, too soft, or was only a temporary meal ticket, teased by others of the orphanage or foster home, weather by other children, or even his carers. Despite all of this, his gentle heart never changed and he rarely struck back.
When he did strike back, his strength was shown. Having broken the bones of a few, and scratched others. His teeth sharper then your average croc and his claws partially retractable, when he's angry, he can cause great damage.
He got himself emancipated at seventeen, striking out on his own. The only problem was, he didn't know what to do. He had never planned on what to do with his life, or what he wanted to do with it. He struggled in school, and was told he was stupid when he couldn't read or understand the words correctly, which left him confused and afraid to speak up and ask for help when he truly needed it.
He was pulled into a few fights for money a time or two, but his gentle nature made it difficult, even if he didn't do so badly in them. He'd do well with better training. But it was nothing that he had his heart set on.
The only time he truly felt calm or at peace was when he was in the gardens, watching and looking at the flowers. Knowing he liked them, and never imagining that he could have a job involving it. Not until a kindhearted elderly female giraffe spotted him, noting how often she saw him there looking at the flowers.
After talking for a time longer, he found himself working at a flower shop and living in an apartment above it, helping out the elderly giraffe with her work, and learning from him. The young male saving up his own money and eventually even expanding the business. The croc having a particular love of breeding lily and other water flowers.
Four years later, the old giraffe retired from the business, and gave the shop to him, where his flowers are considered the most beautiful by many, and if your water flowers aren't from Archie, then you must simply be mad. He does breed other kinds of flowers as well, slowly doing more as time allows and as his water flowers thrive.
