As kits, Ayane and her twin brother Jaci were shown a human book of mythology. The focus was on the Greek pantheon, and the small foxes were delighted to find a set of two among the gods. Apollo and Artemis, shining god of the sun and quiet goddess of the moon. Ayane and Jaci looked at each other and giggled, seeing the gods' bond reflected in their own.
