The gold-chained ruby necklace she sometimes wears is a gift from her ex-boyfriend, Midnight. It was stolen off her by him and his friend Red following a little bit of peer pressure, which then lead to a rather nasty breakup when Ink found out, resulting in the maiming of one of his wings. They eventually made up but never got together again.
