Orthoclase and Albite were homeworld gems that were originally neutral since the start of the rebellion and fused together to aid both sides (as Moonstone) by healing the injured. Rose Quartz tried to persuade them to join the Crystal Gems, but they refused because of they did not want to pick a side and fight. Throughout the rebellion (in which they stayed fused together most of the time), they slowly began to bonded and desired to stay as a fusion.

After the homeworld gem authorities found out that both Albite and Orthoclase were interacting and helping the rebels, the two were imprisoned with a shattering sentence. Before the two was separated at last, there was an attempted rebellious attack near the Diamond’s palace and most of the authorities’ attention was placed there. They both ran off to the nearest mining pod dispatch to escape but Orthoclase was the only one to escape, since Albite sacrificed herself to fight off the remaining gems left on guard.

Orthoclase did not know what happened to Albite nor had no way to communicate with her, especially once she landed on Earth. She eventually ran into the Crystal gems and told them her side of the story in all hopes to get help. Rose Quartz told Orthoclase that they would try their best to retrieve Albite but was not guaranteed since they were in the middle of a war. So, she was left on standby and occasionally aided the gems by fighting alongside with them. She would occasionally leave encrypted messages in the abyss of space in all hopes that Albite would run into them.

Albite was sent into prison and forced to do a lot of grunt work, in exchange of not being shattered for the most part.

Near the end of the great war, Orthoclase felt awful for leaving her friend behind on Homeworld and decided to sneak back to homeworld to retrieve Albite. It was a high-risk mission she assigned herself but decided to do it anyways and did most of the investigation during the night, were as the gems were not as active.  She ran into the ‘Off Colors’ gems, which aided her in her research and worked together to help find Albite. The process took a while but they did locate her friend and Orthoclase went solo from there. She developed a plan to extract her friend, which required a huge distraction from Albite’s current owner and a space pod. On one of Albite’s work days, where she was off to send errands, Orthoclase (Who studied her schedule intently for a while now) approached her friend, who was in tears upon the sight of her friend. Albite offered to bring Orthoclase into her owner’s home, who had a pod since they oversaw watching over a small mining location every occasionally. Once they exchanged information and small talk, they both agreed on a date to leave homeworld.

[This would occur within the close ending of the war]

They stole the pod and flew back to Earth, where they both agreed to venture the planet and help any gems/beings that needed help. They eventually ran into the crystal gems but told them that they don’t seek to pick side and wanted to be on their own for a while to find themselves. The relationship Albite had with the rebellion was distant, since she was not happy that they did not give their time to help her escape homeworld. While Orthoclase’s relationship with the gems was comfortable enough to help them out as well as exchanging valuable knowledge about homeworld, she picked her close friend over the gems (which some did not take very well).

They remained fused to this day…Of course with occasional un-fusing...

 Known as the Moon's Nomad

Moonstone has a welcoming aura, making her easy to communicate with and to approach. She tries to keep an elegant atmosphere around herself and does not enjoy doing dirty work. This gem enjoys keeping some personal information to herself, which only a selected few can know and hear about it. She enjoys taking her time on tasks and does not like being rushed, since it could lead to some possible defect/malfunction/misunderstanding. Moonstone is not quick to jump into conclusions, even when meeting new people; since she wants to balance out the good/bad of a person before deciding to befriend them. She does not enjoy fighting nor watching other’s fight, since it could kill the peaceful aura and will try to break/end fights.

Moonstone is a huge fan of reading, especially romance novels. Since she roams the earth, she sets up a tent to read fortunes and give advice of passerby’s; For example, telling the individual that they will encounter their soulmate in a random situation, what to avoid, cheering them up, etc. Of course, her predictions are not 100% accurate, but she loves to see the curiosity that brightens up faces.
