BRIEF SUMMARY
Seperated from his parents at the age of 4 due to questionable circumstances, Neil grew up very differently than his twin brother, Liam. He was coddled and spoiled by the Crenshaws who adopted him and loved him like their own. Looking to Bailey like a mother, he grew extremely fond of the young woman, devoting much of his free time to spending it at her side. With that, he also picked up on her deep love of science and metaphysics. He challenged most of his fears with scientific facts and exploration which built him up confidence and ego. As Neil got older he grew cynical and jaded, coming off as a bit abbrassive with a dark humor.
Neil can come off as a bit of an ass, but to those who he cares about he is fiercely loyal and kind. He teases the people he likes and prioritizes family above most things, even when societal norms and morality is questioned.
PERSONALITY

Neil is a bit of an ass. Often cynical and judgmental at times he keeps his distance from people. When he was little he was afraid of everything and everyone. It was not uncommon for him to use his shadow magic to frighten people off or use it to escape social interaction. When magic has an oppurtunity to fail him, he combats the things he doesn't like with scientific facts and study. His favorite sciences to study and read up on are metaphysics/magiscience and space science, however, all instances of combining magic and the scientific world fascinate him.
Neil shows his affection for the people he likes through teasing and displaying his dark humor. He is often sarcastic and jaded with his quips, always cracking a smug smirk or crooked grin to get his poitn across.
FAMILIAR
Neil received a crow as a gift from Corvis when the boy displayed signs of being very lonely as a child. He named her Purdita and immediately took up the habit of calling her "Purdy Birdy" when she was being good. Purdy acted as a second pair of eyes for Bailey and Bartholomew when watching Neil became overwhelming since they were both still young when they took him in. Neil loves Purdy and all her sass, truly appreciating her attentiveness to his scientific explanations and musings. She bonded to him instantly and is closer to Neil than Corvis despite originally being part of his familiar colony.When Neil was young he was messing around in one of the alchemy labs in Rutherford triggering an explosion. The explosion wound up killing Purdy in the blast, causing Corvis to step in and ressurect her to soothe a sobbing Neil. Upon bringing her back, it was decided it might be best to make Purdy Neil's familiar after seeing how utterly devastated he was after losing her in the explosion.
Purdy and Neil are still very close. He will often use Purdy as a second opinion when he wants to make a point, since she is confident enough to speak her mind. As a crow, she is easily distracted and pacified, however, she is very skeptical to trust individuals Neil doesn't trust.
