Aurora Australis

Aurora Australis is one half of The Aussie Goldmine, a duo who solve any problems they come across, be it fighting crime, solving a mystery, or ending disputes between friends, and more.

She is an emu - but nobody believes that, as in the lore of the series, all emus went extinct during The Australian Emu War of the early 1900s.

She initially just appeared one day in the 2020s, believing herself to be a ghost as she can hover, phase through things, and perform a variety of magical abilities, but she can also physically interact with objects in the world with enough willpower. She completely disappears the very instant part of the crystal that she usually wears around her neck is hidden from sunlight or moonlight, i.e. stuffed inside a drawer, or simply whilst walking through a dark interior at nighttime - only reappearing once the crystal has reabsorbed enough light energy.
