Appearance: Cassius is tall and lean but doesn't have much presence. 

Personality: Cassius is an extremely old vampire, to the point where he has begun to lose his understanding of time. He has a hard time keeping up with the trends and culture of the current century he is in. His past was not kind to him as he lived through medieval times and the era of the witch hunts, making him very cautious and a little on the nervous side. He's typically quiet and secretive, rarely interacting with humans outside of when he needs to eat. This kind of lifestyle has made him lonely though, and he's weirdly friendly for a vampire if he feels he can trust a human.

Plot: In the present, vampires hide in plain sight- a popular fashion trend is capping ones' canines with gold or silver fangs, so vampires simply cap their fangs and are able to freely blend in with their human counterparts, giving them unique opportunities in experiencing human culture.

Vampires traveled alone in the past, but now they've formed groups for the sake of convenience--these groups conquer territories and defend them; they are a precious source of food. Some groups are far more territorial and aggressive than others, some simply prefer a loose bond and will happily work together with other vampires if it's in their best interest.

Matheo- Cassius' only human that he feeds from. Matheo suffers from polycythemia, a blood disease that causes his bone marrow to create too many red blood cells giving him "thick blood" and making him prone to clots/strokes. Because of this, he and Cassius have a mutually beneficial relationship; Cassius gets to feed off of his highly concentrated and addictive blood and Matheo gets his blood let which reduces his risk for blood clots. 

Cassius is super affectionate towards Matheo- he's the first human he has been close too in a long, long time and genuinely enjoys having a friend to talk too. He likes to regale tales of his past to Matheo, and often challenges history books as being inaccurate.

The best parts of Cassius's personality come out around Matheo, he's much more bold and sociable. However, he reverts back to his shy self if placed in a new environment or new people. He has difficulty leaving Matheo alone but tries not to hang around too often in fear of attracting other vampires to him.
