refers to themselves with "we" instead of "I"

Unbeknownst to the rest of the crew, this isn't Wyatt. They're actually a hivemind of small aliens that joined together to take on the shape of Wyatt's spacesuit after they killed him in a panic upon crashing into the ship. In order to keep up the act, they've been learning about robotics, engineering and general human technology aboard the ship to prevent themselves from being discovered. They're a very fast learner and picked up a few of Wyatt's skills almost instantly, and can often be spotted working on small robots or messing with the wires in electrical.

The real Wyatt hated Ace and found him annoying, but the hivemind took an immediate liking to him. Ace talks to them a lot due to the fact that he looked up to the original Wyatt, and has even taught them how to use the guns on the ship.

With the help of Ace, the hivemind has even learned how to take care of earth hamsters, due to Wyatt having one before his passing. Her name is Bucket and they love her.
