Vega

vega is very cold and somewhat mean. they aren't angry per se, but if they don't like you they'll tell you without hesitation. they don't really talk much, especially to people they don't like. most people probably assume they're angry and mean and just leave them alone, which they're fine with. they don't really care that much about making friends or anything. they come off as very put-together and glamorous. they love the finer things despite not really caring one way or another about their wealth.

they have a very unstable sense of self tbh. on one hand they're extremely vain and love attention, but they also have a ton of self-loathing. they think they're beautiful and love to be fawned over in that regard, but they think they're disgusting and unlovable and annoying. they have a huge amount of anxiety when it comes to relationships. they're terrified of abandonment and suspect that everyone they come across will leave them. they're really paranoid with other people and always doubt their intentions. they're always scared that someone they're close to is out to ruin their life in some way. they require a lot of reassurance that someone's affections towards them are sincere, and even then they doubt most people. they don't really trust anyone, no matter how much they want to. they assume that everyone is lying to them basically no matter what. they're always on guard and try their best to never get attached to anyone because they're so terrified of being hurt again. they frequently have really violent meltdowns and have super intense moodswings.

vega was born to an extremely rich family. big mansion. summer homes. went on a cruise like every summer and maybe even during most winter breaks. their parents seemed loving and loved to do/buy things for them. but they had the typical rich kid childhood. their parents were usually absent and never really gave them much attention outside of their vacations or whenever they had bought vega a new toy or something. they used to fight all the time, too. vega didn't really know about this until they were around 10, but their parents really hated each other and the reasoning behind all their nice vacations and new toys and whatever was just for their parents to get back at each other. they tried to sway vega's opinions of the other parent so they'd love one more than the other. once they caught on, vega didn't really... respond much to the nice things their parents would do for them. they'd accept the gifts but they kind of shut themself away from their parents, so they were even more separated than before. as they got older they resented their parents and their lifestyle more and more. because of their parents and their weird way of showing affection, vega kind of... stopped trusting people. their parents really did love them, but it seemed very insincere, which is what kickstarted their paranoia.

when vega was around 17, they met malik. he was also from a rich family and didn't really like the lifestyle. they both bonded really quickly over their resentment. vega got attached to him very quickly and loved him a lot. they had a really loving, supportive relationship for quite a while. when they graduated high school they both moved into a kind of crappy apartment. their father had pulled some strings and started their modeling career, and malik was trying to become a tattoo artist. they lived that way for quite a few years. vega assumed they were in it for the long haul. unfortunately, even though malik did love them, he messed up and cheated. he admitted it to them, thinking that maybe honesty would be the best policy, but they FREAKED OUT. they immediately broke it off and went back to their parents' house. honestly they were a complete wreck for quite a while, and still are tbh... they were distraught. both parents were genuinely concerned but they also took this chance to really get back at each other as they comforted vega. eventually they started to feel better and their parents annoyed them again. their mom took this chance to give their dad a big "fuck you" and bought vega a nice house. dad retaliated with a fancy new mercedes-benz convertible. as annoying as their parents' fighting was, vega never argued with the nice things they got from them. especially now that they had an excuse to leave and had a good place to go.
