Artie Reagan

The resident mineralogist of Scrappers Mining, Artie comes from a long and proud line of Starcrafters that claim to have blood lineage to Raziel himself.  Her ancestors were gifted with superb skill in healing magics, as well as unusually high aptitude for finding veins of beneficial minerals, ores and gems than some other clans of Starcrafters.  This lead to her family becoming one of the most wealthy and powerful clans of the Great Expanse.  Many a Stardragon traveling through the desert come to the Reagans for trade, assistance or to hire them.  There isn't a Stardragon living in the Expanse who doesn't know the name of the House of Reagan.

some even having the ability to see the threads of magic that weave together to craft one's soul.  It's an ability that goes against the wills of the Gods, and those children who are born with it are usually raised in seclusion as they become powerful weapons in the wrong hands.  What does this sort of magic give to the wielder as a benefit?

She and a select few of her family are masters when it comes to the odiously dangerous task of live lifegem extraction; an art that requires not only a steady hand but also high proficiency in weaving magic.  Lifegem extraction is a heavily shunned practice throughout much of Jo'Arca, mostly for the fact it often kills the host and the siphon.  In order to not shatter the soul of the Stardragon whom the lifegem belongs to during extraction, one must be able to see the soulthreads that are woven around their gem.  The siphon must then unravel those threads, remove the gem and then weave the soul back together.  As simple as it sounds, the soul is a complicated thing, putting a strain on the siphon as they witness every life event the Stardragon in question has ever experienced, both good and bad.  Many a siphon has gone mad, losing themselves in the endless memories that are not their own.  Those who willingly go out and seek to have their gems torn out while still alive often have no other choice; the House of Reagan exists solely for this purpose as an avatar of Raziel.
