Cosmonarch name is Megrez, civilian identity is Lucasta Weaver.
Lives in a city named Almageston, a hub of "supernatural" activity actually caused by two competing forces of magical people. Megrez's faction is called the Cosmonarchs, and they fight the Chaonids that are supposedly responsible for summoning dangerous monsters into the city.
At the beginning of her story, Megrez is a fairly accomplished Cosmonarch (albeit one who had a rough start) who is taking a break from the "Cosmo life" after a particularly harrowing experience. Works as a bartender. Frequently bothered by Burroughs, the miniature schnauzer Oracle (basically the animal companions to the Cosmos).
