Mela is a soldato of Passione who joins Shizuka Joestar's group. They are a stand user, wielding the stand 『RUN RUNAWAY』 [song]
20 | nonbinary | they/them
Personality
Mela Coltello is a very friendly, amiable person with a fondness for crime - particularly money related; scamming, theft, laundering, etc. Though not extremely violent by jojo standards, they're amused by intimidating people and are known to escalate situations and play the heel just for the hell of it. They're easily bored and liable to get distracted from what they're supposed to be doing.
They appear to have a strict moral code, but nobody can figure out what the hell it is.
They have a particular fondness for stealing from arrogant people who think they're too smart to be tricked, and for outrageous scams. They're charming and good at talking people into cons that are, in hindsight, extremely obvious. Often their schemes are unnecessarily dramatic simply for the sake of making things interesting.
Likes | Bright colors, weird kitsch, drawing on themselves/other people |
Dislikes | Monotony, philosophy, cars |
Abilities
A person targeted by Run Runaway has to stay in constant motion, or their organs begin to shut down. They can increase their speed but not lower it. Run Runaway can only target one person at a time.
History
They had a normal, pleasant childhood, and while they were the type of kid to run a black market of banned pokemon cards on the playground, they managed to dodge the blame for the trouble they made. They were an independent confidence artist for a while before joining Passione after its internal power struggle had settled somewhat. Their primary motive for joining was due to their interest in stands, which weren't as well a kept secret as they used to be after the extremely public stand battles during Passione's quick yet brutal change of leadership - though Mela was young when they happened, and wasn't involved.
They haven't directly met or interacted with any of the characters of Vento Aureo.
They're in America for some sort of Passione business reasons they only vaguely remember and ends up joining with the Joestar group.
Relationships
- Shizuka: I still have to figure out my Shizuka characterization lmao
- Billie: They're kinda similar in a way it's just that Billie has an actual moral compass that isn't veering wildly. The two of them have friendly competition. Mela tends to stay especially defensive of her in combat, though after she obtains her stand and grows comfortable in its use they relax as she proves herself capable of handling herself in a fight.
- Florian: Mela thinks Florian's Righteous Anger is mostly amusing and has decided it's their duty to heckle him as much as possible to get him to "take things less seriously". Despite how much they enjoy needling Florian, they seem to dislike when any of the antagonists they face mock him.
Trivia
- They alternate between masculine and feminine pronouns in Italian, and use either they/them pronouns or alternating he/she pronouns in English.
Art ideas:
- Dramatically brandishing a wad of cash they stole and looking way too smug about it
- The gleeful expression of someone who just noticed an opportunity to ruin someone's whole career
- Looking bored/distracted, dramatically lounging around in the "I want company to hurry up and leave and I'm not gonna pretend to be subtle about it" way
- Admiring some weird thrift store kitsch
- Drawing on themself/someone else. Bonus if they're drawing on Florian and he's baffled and slightly disgusted
