Eric grew up in a household where intelligence was considered a necessity and genuine emotions were an afterthought. At a young age it came as no surprise to Eric’s parents that he was a gifted child and excelled far beyond his peers at a young age. Pulled out of elementary school in 4th grade, Eric was homeschooled by his father until the age of 14 until he was sought after by a highly esteemed college that specialized in the sciences. By the age of 17, he was already surpassing his older peers in the nuclear science department and promptly graduated college at the age of 18. Not long after, Eric was offered a job by an international space program as one of the leading Nuclear Engineers and has been working with them ever since.

Backstory
Due to growing up in a household that only prided him for his intelligence, Eric developed an odd relationship with his emotions. Anger was one of his most prominent emotions and often had violent outbursts as a child which led to other odd behaviors. Eric was notorious for asphyxiating and cutting open small animals he would find in the woods behind his childhood home, this was swept aside as curiosity by his parents due to his type of upbringing which encouraged curiosity no matter how violent it may seem.
Eric’s violent tendencies decreased over time, and he became more ethical in his practices. Or well, that was what it seemed like to his parents. Not long after Eric began his education at college he was found in one of the private study rooms with a fellow classmate, performing what may have been perceived as surgery in his mind but seen as murder to the students that discovered him. This incident never got out to the public and was swept under the radar with his parent’s money.
Eric went on his first long trip into space at the age of 24 and to put it simply, things went catastrophically wrong. The original mission was to find and study planets that were similar to earth and of course that came with many risks. Eric and his crew happened upon a planet near the end of their journey that seemed to have no signs of intelligent life on it. The planet mainly consisted of vegetation and primitive organisms that appeared to be in the early stages of evolution for the planet’s ecosystem. Two days after landing the planet was deemed safe by the captain alongside the resident botanist and astrobiologist, however they were proven wrong days later.
The planet itself was parasitic in nature and was passive in its way of infection. The botanist was the first to get infected and massacred almost half of the maintenance crew before he was terminated by the leading weapons expert. Eric and the rest of the crew managed to survive and that was when Eric formed his first proper connection to another human being- his son. Though his son, Miles was ‘born’ in a traumatic setting, it gave him something to fight for other thank just fighting for the sake of making it out himself.

- Eric is a Gemini, born on June 11th.
- He is also an athiest, he personally does not believe there is a god when science can explain everything in such a logical manner.
- Eric almost didn't become a Nuclear Engineer, his interests originally started in the medical field. However Nuclear energy interested him even more. Though, he could still probably fill in effortlessly for any of his crewmates if need be.
- He has a sweet tooth.
- He had no interest in children before he realized he could skip the bedding with a woman part altogether.
Relationships
Boo (Miles Knight) [ Son ]
Miles Kight 'Boo' is Eric's six year old son. Miles was 'born' while Eric was on a three year mission, which means he was 'born' in space. He has no biological mother seeing that he developed in a gestation chamber.
