Aer can’t remember any of his childhood, but he has been told it was mostly spent with them trying to make sure he didn’t die. As a child his bubble mutation wasn’t clear yet, as he hadn’t grown enough bubbles to tell, but his other mutation made is so that he didn’t have enough lamp fluid in either his arms or legs, so they had to get him quite a few lamp fluid transfusions.
Other than being on a deathbed most of his childhood, he was also the only remaining child of his noble family, of which his parents and sister passed away. There was quite a bit of panic, since Aer would most likely not be able to become a noble leader, and his family would no longer be noble, because of his condition. There was still hope however, as if they could stabilize him, and get him the fluids he needed he may still be able to lead the noble family.
Unlike his childhood he can somewhat remember his teenage years. In his teenage years it was when they realized he had a bubble mutation. He was still bed ridden, and still never allowed outside of his room.
After they knew he also had a bubble mutation, all hope of his condition stabilizing faded away. So in his teenage years it was decided that he would most likely not be able to lead his noble family, and that he would most likely be the last member of it.
Finally after 950 years trapped in his room, his condition stabilized just enough for him to go outside. They ended up taking him to a nearby forest, where Aer fell in love with the beauty of flowers, especially roses.
After this his condition was slightly more stable, so he was very rarely allowed outside, with supervision of course. Almost all the time he spent outside, was made up of him trying to escape, and enjoying the beauty of flowers.
