BIOGRAPHY
Merlot had an average upbringing in a busy city. She went to school and got good grades and was well-liked. She went to college for business and design, but before she got deep into school, her online shop got a break. She made everything herself for as long as she could, but she eventually got all the paperwork in order to hire folks to sew with her and be able to provide them with benefits and a good environment. Her shop now has a central location downtown in a studio that's always filled with fun as people work and chat.
Merlot's very proud of her business. She makes a point of sourcing ethically and when things need to be outsourced, she's very picky about where she sends things. These days she doesn't do as much of the hands-on work, but she still makes prototypes herself and signs thank you notes to send to customers.
Outside of work, Merlot is independent and bubbly. She likes to spend time with her friends and go on impromtu day/weekend trips. She takes very good care of her little windowsill of succulents. She's very artistic and creative, often working through problems and coming up with new solutions rather than forcing a way to do it the way others do.

Merlot's business started as an instagram account where she made and restored clothing items, then posted them for sale.
The original name of her business was "Sunflower Dawn".

Merlot finds it hard to get up in the morning, but she adores the morning sunlight and birdsongs, so she gets up to enjoy the early world, even when it's hard.
She briefly experimented with making soaps too, but she found herself getting too frustrated with airbubbles and colors not going where she wanted them to. She decided to focus on clothing, where she can have control over small details.
Merlot grew up in an area where not many JBDs lived, so many of her friends are other species, and she loves to have them help her when she makes sizings for new clothing items. She always makes them something as thanks.
