A young man's baby sister was found to have a terminal illness. One for which the medicine didn''t exist. He serched for years with no hope until one day. He'd heard a rumor that the old woman in the woods would use her magic to grant anyone's wish in exchange for a small trade. The man ran annd ran. He wanted to cure his sister. He'd pay whatever price the hag demanded of him. Upon meeting her, he pled and bawled. The witch agreed to help him in exchange for his life. She could do what she wanted with him. He agreed. The man ran home to see if the old woman had fufilled her end. His sister was jumping and playing like any other child. He had a few days to spend with her before the witch would call him back to fufill his end of the deal, and when he did, he fell to the ground in pain. His wails went unheard as his form began to mutate. Over the next day his body became an amalgimation of the forest creatures. Before him was a shrine, his shrine, which bound him to his new home. He wa forsed into a life as the forests guardian. He lived as long as it did. The longer his life went on the more his heart shrank. He felt no need for interaction as he never got any. The once joyous man was now apathetic and angry.
