Cheka

Cheka doesn't know where they came from - they were abandoned as a baby on the steps of a church in a small town. They were taken in by a local couple who happened to be werewolves; they saw the signs and took the little hyena in. Cheka was always a little more bestial than other children, more aggressive in both play and fights. Cheka got into quite a bit of trouble as a youngster, but loved their family and never did anything too rash.

They started shapeshifting right after puberty, to no one's surprise but Cheka's. It took a while for it to really sink in that hyenas were different than wolves, but Cheka still found a place in the local werewolf pack. They managed to get along with the other two kids in the pack pretty well. Honestly growing up in general was pretty easy for Cheka; it wasn't until they hit their late teenage years that everything went to shit.

When they were 17, Cheka's friends tried drinking for the firsts time - and the hyena was hooked. It started off with just booze and pot, then moved to molly, LSD, and then it was cocaine and pretty much anything under the sun. The only thing they avoided was anything to do with needles; those were terrifying to Cheka. But everything else? Being a werehyena meant that they had a faster metabolism and could process most drugs and liquors in quantities that would be dangerous for humans, without a sweat.

Cheka's parents however would not abide an addict of any kind in their house, and the kicked them out until their kid could come home clean. Since then, Cheka has been wandering from place to place, looking for their next good time.
