Kaori Kato (加藤 香 Katō Kaori) is one of the main characters in Digimon Frontier Lost Worls and Digimon Frontier Rising Shadow. She is one of the Chosen Children, children who were chosen to receive the ability to transform into Digimon in order to save the Digital World.

She is Emi's older sister.

Kaori has black shoulder length hair with green eyes, like Emi’s. She wears red rimmed goggles, which were a gift from Kouichi. She wears a turquoise short sleeved jacket with a purple long sleeved shirt under it. Kaori wears black jeans with blue sneakers. She also has a red scarf hanging around her neck.

In Game of the Future Kaori has cut her hair short and is now in a bob-ish style. She wears a red bandana around her neck. Kaori wears a navy unzipped hoodie with a light blue shirt under it with blue jeans and black sneakers.

Kaori doesn’t seem like she wants to be involved with other people. She likes it to have her alone time, but she hates it to feel lonely. She's often described as the “Lone Wolf” of the group rather than the leader, despite often taking the leading position.

Kaori doesn't trust people easily, but deep inside she wishes she could depend on people more. She wants others to prove it to her that they’re trustworthy. She can act like your typical Tsundere sometimes. Kaori has a short temper and gets angry easily. She's easy to manipulate, especially when you hit her soft spots.

• Kaori (香): Kaori is a Japanese girl's name which means scent/aroma, fabric/weave and is occasionally rendered "perfume".
• Kato (加藤): Kato means "add/increase Wisteria".

Kaori often got bullied when she was younger. She felt that the world didn't want and need her. Kaori started to close herself out of the world and became cold hearted. Her parents always had their attention around her younger sister Emi.

One day, Kaori befriended a boy named Kouichi Kimura. He promised her to always stay at her side, no matter what. But he seemed to break his promise and suddenly avoided her a lot. Kaori felt betrayed, but she didn’t know the real reason why he did that and decided to ignore and avoid him as well.

Kaori was the child chosen to wield the Spirits of Night. Kaori starts the series as the group loner and villain, but gradually warms up to the others and slowly becomes their leader. Kaori receives Ophanimon's cell phone message while she was out in the park, wondering if she should go see Kouichi or not. She followed the instructions on the SMS, which led her to a subway station where a Trailmon took her to the Digital World.

Lunarmon

Lunarmon is Kaori's Digimon form when she uses the Human Spirit of Night. Lunarmon first appears in Attack! Lunarmon the Extinct Legendary Warrior of Night! of Digimon Frontier: Lost Worlds. Kaori got attacked by a Wendimon, causing her to fall from a cliff. Upon waking up, Ogudomon gave her the Human Spirit of Night, allowing her to evolve into Lunarmon.

• Shadow Shot: Lunarmon puts her hands together and a dark aura surrounds her palms. She then shoots a black beam at the enemy.
• Spike Strike: Lunarmon skewers the opponent with the Spikes on its arms.
• Moon Blast: Lunarmon holds up one of its paws to draw out power of the moon. It then releases an energy beam at the opponent.
• Night Claw: Lunarmon’s paw starts glowing. It then quickly approaches the opponent and slashes them.

Eclipsemon

Eclipsemon is Kaori's Digimon form when she uses the Beast Spirit of Night.

Eclipsemon first appears in Nymphymon, the Extinct Warrior of Harmony of Digimon Frontier Lost Worlds. The Beast Spirit of Night was given to Kaori by Ogudomon after repeated failure to steal the Spirits from the Chosen Children. At first, she had no problem controlling the Beast Spirit, but after Ogudomon wasn't using half of it’s powers, she couldn’t control it anymore. Aithmon Made An Appearance!

• Shadow Fang: Eclipsemon’s fangs get enveloped in a dark energy as it bites the opponent.
• Shadow Ram: A black shadow envelopes Eclipsemon and forms a wolf above it. It then charges at the opponent.
• Wing Blast: Eclipsemon starts flapping its wings and charges energy. It then releases a powerful beam from its wings.

Yuelianmon

Yuelianmon first appears in Charmermon, Havanmon and Yuelianmon! of Digimon Frontier Lost Worlds. Yuelianmon was first formed when Kaori was about to get defeated by Cherubimon. Kaori fought, and was defeated by Cherubimon, forcing her to revert to her human form. About to be killed by Cherubimon, Kaori's will to continue living triggered the Spirits of Night, upgrading Kaori's Digivice and giving her the power to combine her Beast and Human Spirits.
