Mother

Mother is what one might call an "entity" or a "cryptid". The creature is actually quite genderless and speaks with a voice that seems to sound both masculine and feminine all at once. The name comes from the people that she raises, and she hasn't objected to the title, and as such she has come to be known as Mother, along with other vague titles.

Mother is ageless. No one knows how long she has been around, or if she even originated in this world. But she seems to have good intentions. Mother is known for snatching away children who are victims of abuse, and raises them herself. Her children are quiet, gentle, and the majority of them live in their own settlements away from the rest of society unknown to everyone else. Otherwise, they may decide to live on the edges of towns, and are typically very withdrawn. These are called Children of the Night. 

When spotted, Mother is usually mistaken for a baboon.
