Story
Smokeblossom had fallen for Pebblebounce, a strikingly gregarious warrior who couldn't be anymore opposite to her. Although it seemed like her feelings wouldn't be mutual, Cougarbolt, her best friend, would've smacked the back of Pebblebounce's thick head if her words didn't get through to him first, which it did.Pleased with the attention, Pebblebounce spent more time with Smokeblossom, and found himself falling for her as well. The two became mates, and soon had expected their first litter of kits. Yet, a storm had happened a moon after what Smokeblossom considered the happiest moment of her life.
After the devastating storm is over, Smokeblossom is filled with grief after the loss of her mate and kits. It takes her several days to leave her nest or eat anything, and when her best friend and their apprentices go out to remove the wreckage in camp, Smokeblossom finds a orphaned raccoon kit. She believes it to be a kit, although her best friend and the apprentices are skeptical as it does not look like a kitten. Nonetheless, she adopts it as her own and the raccoon grows up to be her adoptive son.

Often grounded in reality and outspoken about what's on her mind, Cougarbolt doesn't shy away from giving someone her criticism or praise.
Story
She and Smokeblossom had become close as apprentices, covering each other's backs (mainly in Smokeblossom's case) whenever one fell behind their duties. Cougarbolt had thought little of the timid apprentice, but decided her friendship was one to keep as she went along with her whims.They had earned their warrior names the same evening, and the following afternoon they had shared about their aspirations now that they were warriors. While Smokeblossom had spoken about finding her beloved and raising a family, Cougarbolt had set her own sights on deputyship. A respected, powerful role was what she desired, assigning warriors to patrols and being the leader's confidant, although the idea of leadership had been a little too overwhelming for her at the time.
Cougarbolt had been one of the first warriors to be skeptical of Smokeblossom's adoptive 'kit', when a destructive storm had claimed both her mate and their litter. Though grateful that the ticked tabby had found a life abandoned by the storm and rescued it, Cougarbolt was well aware that something was off, even if she didn't have kits of her own yet. Smokeblossom had sheltered the kit from other's prying eyes, yet revealed the most to her. To Cougarbolt's dismay, Smokeblossom had convinced herself the kit was a kitten, even if Cougarbolt pointed out some of obvious unkit-like features it had.
