Jocelyn is not afraid to tell it how it is. If you have done a good job at something, she will be sure to let you know, and the same goes for the opposite. She expects the same from everyone else and does not want to be treated like she can't handle the truth.
Insensitive
This can go along with being direct, but it can also stand on its own. Many times, she will judge before she gets to know someone, and in a lot of those cases, her judgement may be harsh. Her opinion can change, and fairly quickly, but that all depends on how the judged person handles her as a person.
Live in the Moment
Jo is not the type of person that likes to let opportunity pass her by. Even with her fear of failure, she would rather grab something quickly and not have it go as planned rather than regret it later, because a later regret is a bigger failure than not trying when the chance was given.
Determined
When there is something she wants, she will be sure to get it. She wanted to play hockey, but there was no girls team, so she practiced until she was as good as any of the guys, if not better than some. This determination continues as she grows, and she succeeds in most anything she puts her mind to.

A Different Breed

Summary
Jocelyn was born in a small town but moved to a larger city during second grade. It had been hard for her in her hometown since she didn't act like the typical girl, and the boys thought it was weird for a girl to play with them. This wasn't an issue after she moved, and she found a group of boys to rough house with. They got her into all kinds of sports, but the one she enjoyed best was ice hockey. There was not enough girl's interested in the sport to make an all girl's team, so she ended up playing on the boy's team and became their goalie. She made good friends with -and had a crush on- one player in particular: Ricky, the right-wing with the fiery orange hair.
After graduating high school, she went off the college, and the next time she returned to the town she grew up in was for Ricky's funeral. She had pushed him hard to follow his dream of being a pro hockey player, but now that would never happen for him. She had also hoped they would be together in the future, but that dream was also crushed. In his memory, she dropped her future plans and followed in Ricky's footsteps and became a pro hockey player.

- Through her high school career, she keeps the jersey number 22, but once she is out of high school she takes on more traditional goalie numbers. Her pro number is 30.
