Introduction

Samir is the wind. He exists primarily as the peaceful, gentle breezes that drift calmly and soothe one's soul, but also the occasional harsh gusts that disappear as quickly as they come, and the merciless winds that rattle your windows during a raging storm.

All Samir knows is of his devotion and his duty. He remembers nothing of the moment he came into being, but that of the unconditional love and reverie for those above he serves, and understanding of the reason for which he exists. He drifted on back then, and he drifts on now, and will always continue to do so for as long as the universe breathes and stars continue to live and die.

He is distant and detached, for the wind does not linger when it must not, nor does it wait. It dances along the flowers and rustles through the trees, but it is either passing or it is already passed. Samir's life is simple and ever fleeting, yet eternally stagnant. He wishes for nothing more nor anything less, for there is no reason for the wind to yearn for more than its simple, blissful purpose.

The wind observes countless lifetimes and adventures still, but never truly does understand the great investments of the mortals below into their illusionary and transitory lives. While not truly meaningless—as the messy balance of karma through it all would decide where the selves within are to pass on in their next travels through their plane of māyā—it is still no more truly lucid than that of one lost in a dream.

He looks upon their worlds with both passing intrigue and mild disregard, admiring the natural beauties to be found in the lands and skies, yet seeing little else of value within the lowly, worldly plane below. A subtle soul exists in a state of satisfaction, delight in the perfection, and there is nothing to envy and nothing to wish of when one has seen and served all the most holy and beautiful to be known in the universe. This is what Samir believes.

However, everything can come eventually to change in due time.

The beginning

It all began with a singular leaf. A beautiful and divine leaf, but one of countless, resting from the holy branches of a bright and golden tree. The wind in its heavenly routines would pass by the tree on regular occasions, relishing in the softness of the leaves it brushed by and the gleam of their bright color. After many years of eternity, it could not but help notice a particular leaf among them, rebellious and persistently distinct from the rest. One that had become aware of its own self.

Samir could not understand, and yet curiosity budded still. A change within this realm of changeless infinity.

The wind, aware further and further of the leaf in spite of itself, felt the leaf's subtle thoughts and feelings within its own peacefully subtle mind. Of how badly the leaf yearned for change, its desire to be unbound and free from the tree that bore it, alive and unique and real. Unable to bear the weight of its desires any longer, the wind at last rushed by as a harsh gust, carrying the leaf away along with it to its ever yearned freedom.

And so did the two drift on—neither truly aware of the other for their mutual lack of animate forms—until the leaf eventually separated from Samir's drifting winds. Onwards he continued without a care, unacknowledging of the odd sense of loneliness that lingered faintly without the other kindred, yet so very contrasting presence. A singular leaf lost in the infinite ether wasn't to be a concern of his, and the world was to return to its usual unchanging state.

Mid-to-present

Many timeless years later, unusual happenings began appearing in the ever lively earthly plane that had been always so indifferently disregarded by Samir. An unusual entity—a celestial like himself—wandered rogue from world to world, making waves like little other, yet always fading away into distant obscurity in the end, eternal, yet ever fleeting. So peculiarly intrigued with the concept of life, it almost reminded this wind celestial of that curious leaf that his very winds had carried away so long ago.

Samir had dismissed the thought with little question, and yet he was not foolish, either. The manner of which the celestial carried himself, the golden vine-like abilities he controlled, and the simple familiarly innate fervor for freedom was undeniable.

Whether it was its own further curiosity or a fresh intrigue, the wind followed the path of this former leaf. The being lived more humanly than any human, more passionately than any man, consuming the pleasures and labors of life alike with a gluttony like none other. The wind sighed at the leaf's foolishness.

The guṇa of rajas in such excess is not for a celestial such as yourself, or any who wishes to live a fuller, truer life. You will fall the moment your reckless balance tips and will no longer be able to enjoy any of those worldly pleasures at all so freely as you do. That is the fate you create, foolish leaf.

He merely wondered when it was that the leaf celestial would at last tumble from his high throne—when his heavenly crown would crash and shatter—and perhaps it did come, yet not as Samir had truly expected. The heavens were lenient, he thought, but he dared not to farther question their knowing will from his lowly place.

And yet he continued watching still. He watched the celestial trudge on through highs and lows, countless nights and days, winds nudging playfully at times and even protecting in the most dire of strifes, until he could no longer say for certain why it was so.

Appearance.

Hair
thin and silky, black
Skin
neutral mid-brown
Eyes
bright blue
Height
182 cm/6'0"
Build
toned, inverted triangle idk
  • He typically wears a dhoti (specifically this draping style). While the former is far preferred, he can still be drawn in more typical pants if it's too daunting.
  • You're very welcome to draw him shirtless.
  • The gems on his outfit are peacock/Montana sapphires.

Long, silky black hair is tied neatly into a high ponytail, with barely a single frizz to be seen, and little stray but that of the long fringe falling lightly down each side of his forehead. The man is an ethereal beauty, with smooth features, unblemished skin, and bright, almost gem-like eyes that curve with a subtle elegance. A faint breeze seems to exist within his form, lightening the flow of everything on his person.

Samir's clothes manifest with the rest of his ethereal form, and so he is seldomly seen in anything different. Though despite his claims of disinterest in the concept of meaningless garments, anything he wears often fits into the more ornate variety, and he will refuse to wear any attire without at least some slight embellishments.

The Wind

Samir's purest and truest form. He is invisible to the naked eye, freely flowing as a gentle or harsh force of the wind itself. While there are many winds, the others do not follow where he ventures, and so on the brief occasions of taking on a physical form, the natural wind anywhere in the far vicinity ceases to blow entirely by default.

Celestial Form

A relatively physical shape manifested out of his being. It exudes a divine aura and could not truly pass as human without a great deal of extra effort, and is the approach most celestials default to when taking on a human shape. He can be touched and interact when desired, but cannot be injured by any physical or common magical means.

Wind Control

As wind is the essence of Samir's existence, he can create and control any in the vicinity at effortless will.

Samir typically appears calm and indifferent, and tries ideally to maintain this impression to not only any he meets, but himself as well. While he has always held investment in little, and intends very greatly so to keep things that way, one may find him to be suprisingly temperamental, and even somewhat sensitive when the careful restraint at last cracks in spite of himself. Unused to any true feelings and preferences, those that make it through his persistent walls are felt throughout his being with an intensity difficult to manage.

As one who has seen countless things, but lived little to none, anything beyond the realm of his own impersonal thoughts is handled cluelessly and fumbly. Physical sensations, relationships, tastes, general experiences—everything is completely new to him, and to someone as divine and ever detached as he, such things are akin to a sweet and tempting, but potentially poisonous fruit. He is both faintly curious and slightly terrified of all that exists out there.

With little experience in regards to social conventions, Samir is as blunt and straightforward as one could be with anything but his own emotions—with which case he is hesitant, embarrassed, and would prefer to avoid addressing entirely. He sees little reason why one may not always appreciate the truth, and will express anything he has to say with little thought towards any affect it may have towards the recipient, whether positive or negative. While not an experience Samir finds issue in, he has difficulty seeing the perspective of others, both mortal and even celestial alike to an extent. The feelings may change eventually were he to spend enough time around them, but while he would not wish any human harm, he would likely not act for the sake of their benefit either.

Additional Facts.

Notes

  • As an ethereal being, the body he manifests has very little weight to it, no matter its appearance.
  • He's vegetarian (lacto-vegetarian specifically), and will not consume meat or eggs at any costs.
  • While not genuinely aroace, he isn't one to be interested in anyone romantically or sexually. There is one exception to this that has developed...
  • He hasn't a slightest care towards attempting to hide his ethereal nature. His presence itself does not unbalance any worlds for lack of belonging, so it's up to any unfortunate witnesses themselves to make sense of whoever they just saw. Although oftentimes, any details of him are blurred regardless into more of a simply surreal experience to question their own mind over afterwards.
  • He is genuinely not accustomed to experiencing anything. Aside from faint sensations as the wind, imagine seeing the world as a choppy documentary your entire life before finally exposing yourself to anything for real.

Trivia

  • He blushes very easily.
  • Even when taking on a physical form, he isn't the slightest bit bothered by the elements. He'll walk barefoot through mud without batting an eyelid, and cares very little about the pleasantry of his surroundings in general. Though he still keeps himself well-groomed, for cleanliness is a virtue as important as any other.
  • He often follows people he's curious about as the wind and observes them that way, and doesn't really understand how kind of stalkerish it is.
  • He occasionally will manifest a form before others briefly to express any thoughts he holds towards them, with little care for their reactions, and will disappear again right after (think sort of like Cole from DA:I).
  • Enjoys sweets much more than he would like to admit.

Caelestis (Strangers?)

Samir prefers not to linger too greatly on his odd attachment to the rogue celestial, and to focus rather on observing the liveliness of the other's adventures and judge the many questionable choices he makes. It's far easier to indulge the similarly odd whims to push him towards his relationships with others, and ignore the odd curiosity to what it would feel like to be indulged himself as well so affectionately as Caelestis so often does others.
