Personality
First off, he is usually very sleep deprived, primarily because of frequent nightmares, but also due to his tendency of taking on a heavy workload.
Theodore is rather on the quite side in most social contexts, when a topic/field of interest to him comes up however, he will be most eager to talk for hours at a time.
He tries to be introspective and respectful, even kind, though his current limited social and emotional intelligence... make this rather hard for him. As such he oft comes across as an ass..
He does not willingly suffer the cruel or the willfully ignorant; "It is one thing to not know something, it is completely another to be fully aware of the facts and yet still deny them!"
His confidence is fairly decent, it's higher then most, but given our society, that isn't saying much.. Point being, he knows he has looks, brains, and spirit, but is pretty self conscious about how little he understands most people or manages to fit in with them.
Theo also strives to convey, what he considers, a professional appearence. Thus he typically supresses his sense of humor, unless it is sufficiantly witty, but secretly loves cheesy puns and slap-stick comdey.
Due to his lonely life, he is very touch starved. As it stands, he makes due with occasional physical affection derived from his parents, and good ol'fashioned yearning.
His fears are few, and mostly self explanatory: that he will be lonely until he dies, that he will fail to live up to his parent's success, and a deep-rooted fear of ice skating.
Appearance
Theodore Payne is a big fat bitch and I love him! At just a hair under 6 feet, and roughly 285lbs, he is one hunk of a guy.
He has very pale skin, which burns and flushes easily as you might expect, with a round mole just under the outer corner of his left eye, and a matching on the upper right of his right butt cheek, lol.
While his hair is a softly bright blonde, his eyes are a vivid, almost neon, green. Theo likes to keep his hair quite long, with short sideburns, and normally has it in a fishtail-esque style braid.
In terms of clothing, he isn't shy about his body, at the few Pride events he attended in the past he was barely clothed at all. Usually he prefer to wear more "modest" casual clothes in his day-to-day work. Which typically consists of his beloved sweaters, especially turtle necks, cargo pants tucked into sturdy boots, and a simple layering of a cool colored collared shirt over top. TBH it is mostly bc he gets cold very easy.
Outside of work, when the weather and activity permits, Theo has a large soft-spot for crop tops, loose harem style pants, and short flowy skirts.

His parent's made sure his body was left unviolated by doctors when he was young, raised him in an accepting house, and taught him that his body was not his gender, though he was AFAB. *NOTE: BEING INTERSEX IS NOT WHY THEO CONSIDERS HIMSELF TRANS. It's a whole different thing smh.*
- ● Despite strong legs and very high endurance, Theo has little natural strength in his arms and doesn't lift for shit.
- ● Has only dated someone twice. First when he was 19, and it only lasted a year. Second when he was 23, online, and although it didn't work out they are still friends
- ● Is allergic to codeine, a reletively common opioid drug used to medicate pain. If he recieves it, it can cause (potentially deadly) inflamation, painful iching, and hallucinations.

Backstory
Theo was raised by two loving, and highly accomplished, parents; in a seculded modern house in a mountain valley. They are rich and saw to his education personally for most of his life. When they weren't with him, they were usually very busy. Thus, Theo grew up rather isolated and socially inept.
He chose to hone his academic intelligence even further once leaving his family home, earning a Bachelors in Anthropology, a Masters in Ancient History, and a PhD in Archeology by the time he was 26.
Being so busy with school, and having a rather assholish demeanor, Theo made very few friends during this time. He threw his focus into his work; during this time Theo developed a passion for taking long hikes in his freetime, appreciating the solitude and the vast beauty of nature.
At the current point in his life, he has just finished his first year of teaching (rather poorly) at university and is desperate to head his own expedition, for the first time, over the summer.
It is relevant to know that ever since his 25th birthday, Theo has been haunted by a Voice that paints vivid nightmares of a mysterious lost civilization, beckons him to the sunken city of said civilization in his waking hours, and mildly bullies him when it's not doing any of the former.
Lastly, on the history of his gender and sexual/romantic identity: Theo knew he was into tough masculine identifying people for as long as he could remember. However it wasn't until puberty strted hitting that he realized he was a man himself! ...or well, mostly a man.. he has a few queer feelings on his gender that led to him, eventually, happily identifying as a Demi-guy.
Relations
Dr. Atticus Darleen Payne Theo's father. He is an accomplished food scientist, half dedicated to the nutritional science and half to the culinary arts. Often told Theo that "It's not just about the data supporting a dish, but the experience one has when consuming it!" and the vice versa version as well. When he wasn't with Theo he was busy in the lab/kitchen, in his office, or traveling to listen to or give speech's on his field. The family dog, a brown pitbull named Finny, is his. Getting close to his planned retirement from active research.
Nikita Mikhailovna Payne Theodore's mother. An Olympic medalist for weight lifting, it is clear where theo got his body type from. Aside from her career in weight lifting, Nikita loves the arts, taking up painting herself once she retired as a pro-athlete. She is responsible for Theo's love of nature, as they would often explore the outdoors together when he was a child. Today she tries not to dispair over her only son's total lack of upper-body strength, and enjoys occasionally joining him on his frequent hikes. She is involved in various forms of socio-political activism, and has been since she moved to America as a young adult. Nikita made sure to use her resources in these circles to help ensure a more accurate education for Theodore on subjects like institutionalized racism, LGBT issues, feminism, inter-sex issues, and the intersectionality of it all. He may be a jerk sometimes, but he is NO bigot. *Disclaimer: Theo's issues w internalized/passive ableism and his sheer rich privlege are real issues for him.... he'll work through it once he's more aware of it though.*
Buchanan "Buck" Carson A student of his spring archeological course, Theo failed to be an accomodating and present professor for Buck, who has strong dylexia and ADHD. Thus after the final exam, Buck begged Theo for something to help him pass his class...and since Theo was in immediate need of replacing his previous archelogical student intern's for the upcoming expedition he was heading, he offered the position to Buck. They have very different personalities, and he tests Theo in more than just his patience. Buck is a soft hearted silly cowboy texan, with big strong arms that threaten to unwittinly sweep Theo off his unwilling feet.
