Profile
DAMN THIS BITCH LOVES ALCREMIES
Zerui is a weak-willed and quiet Pokemon trainer from the Hoenn region, currently living in Galar. They've always gotten along with Pokemon much better than people, and they tend to float through life rather than focusing on what they're doing. His main Pokemon companion is a vain and vindictive shiny Gigantamax Hatterene named Gossamer, who is cruel to anyone except her trainer that she's overprotective of.
Backstory
Before moving to Galar, Zerui had a brief stint as the ghost-type trial captain of Ula'ula in Alola. During their trial captain years, they came off as ominous and foreboding, but that was par for the course as a Ghost-type gym leader. Their main companions were Espurr, Gothorita, and Misdreavus. The trial focused more on having fun than actual battling, so Zerui tended to slack off rather than getting any useful training out of the mix. Though they're talented at raising Pokemon, they didn't really dedicate themselves to training, and they definitely didn't fare well with a job that required interacting with other trainers so often... Eventually, they moved from their residency in Tapu Village to Hau'oli City on Melemele Island. They visited Hau'oli Cemetery frequently to train with the Ghost-type Pokemon there, but they couldn't quite figure out what to do for a career, so they ultimately moved to Galar looking for a fresh start.
Zerui moved to Galar and began their quest of beating the gym challenge. They gained new companions in Drifblim, Alcremie, and Mimikyu, and their team was working hard to take on the gym leaders. Before reaching the 5th gym at Ballonlea, however, they unfortunately found out they're allergic to Poison-types... A shiny Hatenna living in Glimwood Tangle, who was later named Gossamer, befriended and protected Zerui through this ordeal. Ever since then, Gossamer and Zerui have been best friends; with Gossamer being overprotective of her trainer, since her Psychic-type inclinations let her know if Zerui's in trouble. Zerui has struggled with neurological issues since then, so they decided to quit the gym challenge and find something less exhausting to do.
They decided to settle down in Stow-on-Side, a quieter town surrounded by history and picturesque views, while recovering. Visiting the cafes scattered across Galar had been one of Zerui's favourite activities, so at some point he decided to breed Milcerys with the goal of seeing all the different forms of Alcremie it could evolve into. After starting a ridiculously huge collection of Alcremie friends, he wanted to find new homes for them, and so he slowly started a business as a daycare worker. Mostly, Zerui was only interested in breeding Pokemon that were cute to him, but they felt motivated to make it a business after getting requests from trainers looking for strong IV-bred Pokemon companions to battle with. They also eventually finished their "Alcremie-pedia" so to speak, and felt more inspired to work as a daycare worker after seeing all the cute types of Alcremies that could be evolved.
