About
Living his life most often paws to salted wood, Crab is a sea-faring pirate. Of course, he's not as much mentally a pirate as he is just someone who does whatever his adoptive father, who he only really knows as Shrimp, says. He travels the sea with Shrimp, Lobster, and Krill- lovingly referred to as 'The Crusty Crew'. The Crusty Crew's greatest focus is the killing of leviathans; However, Crab is not averse to committing a (generally piracy based) crime- as it was a way of life he knew even when he was just a young kit.
Crab is generally rather quiet, and spends more time watching his surroundings than engaging in them. He's quick on his feet when it comes to acting on his desires, though; If Crab does something, you know it's something he truly wants to do; He's not one to bend over backwards just to please any old someone... But that's not to say there aren't people he wouldn't go to the ends of the earth for.
His line of thought is rather survivalist, and he is not picky on his living conditions. This boy can and will eat a handful of grubs out of the ground then run away in quad form, do not test him.

Crab has a feral-like energy to him. Unpredictable. His broken upbringing leaves a lot to be desired in the intelligence side of things, but he's learned enough to function in his common life. This young curio's knowledge is strongest in a few subjects: Leviathan (and perhaps a little curio) killing, how to sail a ship (and it's offshoots), and surviving.
Socially, Crab is abyssmal- unless of course whoever he is dealing with is also quite the card. A neccessity to his more gesture-based method of communicating, Shrimp had taught Crab a form of curio sign language as he was raising him, and it is at times one of his best ways of expressing himself.
Story
Origins
As far as Crab knows, through the grapevine of Lobster's mouth... His family lived in the mountains- Dad was a criminal of Jun Nazu who ran away to the far reaches and fell in love with a weak young lady who lived in an icy, fallen manor. After Lobster left it can only be assumed that at some point mom passed and daddy picked up little Ranin, at the time- though that is a name that has long since lost any meaning to Crab, and lugged him all the way back to Jun Nazu.
Daddy was never a great man, and he only became worse after the loss of the love of his life. Crab's father returned to the life of crime he knew before and drank considerably more. Crab did not get much in the way of attention, and other than being scolded by name, he never heard much either. He was a wild kit that scavenged and stole up until the day Dad lay dead on the ground and Shrimp stood tall with bloodied fists.
Middle
Crab has been living his life to the fullest ever since Shrimp picked him up. He's learned every little thing he knows from that man. Sure that is a very limited range of knowledge, but what Crab doesn't know he can't miss either. Shrimp has taught him the sword (or well he tried to, until Crab took it into his mouth and taught himself his own odd way of swordsmanship) and the gun... And lost a few things in the process.
His path has led to the reconvening with a sister he didn't know he had, and the gaining of new friends and experiences.
Present
Recently, a new curio joined the crew. A young undyre by the name of Krill. Crab's initial reactions upon seeing these circumstances leave him... Wary. He was once a young curio adopted by Shrimp, after all... Does that mean he's being replaced? Is Krill competition? Is this the end of the only life he's ever known? Or is it just someone new who he can also come to know of them as a friend and family member.
Trivia
- Crab's facial scarring is something he has had from since before Shrimp adopted him... The actual loss of the eye (and middle finger) came after.
- He loves swimming in the ocean! He does not love what one is supposed to do -after- they go swimming in the ocean.
- At the dangerous age of nine, Shrimp chose his bead for him.
- Though Crab's hair never grows out, if it was to ever get long, it would gradient into sandy-white tips.
- Both the pawpads on his hands and on his feet are a dusty greenish color.
- The crew doesn't actually know when Crab's birthday is.
Relationships
This man means the world to him. He wouldn't know what to do with himself if he couldn't count on always being able to return back to Shrimp.
Though he hasn't known Lobster quite as long as he's known Shrimp- he finds the fact that they're actually related to be fun. It's more of a found family relationship, as they didn't know eachother growing up, but just as he loves Shrimp, he loves Lobster as well.
Krill scares him. Not in her actual physical threat-levels, but her position. He's afraid that with more young blood on the ship he won't be needed anymore. Of course, maybe a little interaction could help him quell those fears.
Jennar, who he only mentally acknowledges as "Slipper", is awesome! Someone to play around with. He will not forgive her for any wash related crimes... Or well, maybe he will if they have some more fun together.
