Profile
Nam Yin is a first year student at the prestigious Canadian university known as Sweetoak-U. Their admittance into the institution via a raffle served to raise a few eyebrows, but despite some of the doubts and rumors surrounding their tumultuous entry into the university, their infectious enthusiasm for the future serves them well in dispelling the doubts of their peers as they embark on their academic journey.
Nam is the main character in this story, the events that unfold are told from their perspective. Sticky-Sugar Snippets is a webcomic that covers the topics of loss, mental health, sexuality and classism in a university setting.
Daseok was the first person in SweetOak-U that Nam met, which is a miracle in and of itself considering how isolated Daseok is. Nam think's that they get along great and considers Daseok a friend despite his strange mannerisms and opinions on art, they appreciate his insight and his talent for photography and will continue to hype him up whenever they get the chance.
Manchu is Nams roomate in residency, and they are, in Nam's opinion, entirely hard to read. With Nam being an art major and Manchu majoring in computer science their schedules conflict often and Nam doesn't tend to see them too much. However, Nam can't be 100% sure that Manchu's distance is because he is intentionally avoiding them.
Mei and Nam became fast friends very quickly with the both of them having some shared core classes. Mei's outgoing bubbly personality easily bounces off of Nams own, and they can talk endlessly about nothing. With Mei being a complete socialite, Nams friendship network is ever-growing.
Owen is Mei's softspoken boyfriend, and while initially Nam was a bit intimidated by his intense demeanor and resting bitch face, they have come to realize that he's much more of a sweetheart than he lets on. Nam knows that Mei is very lucky to have him in her corner, and vice versa, they are entirely the power couple of SweetOak-U
