King

Doesn't appear in the story, but lives in universe.

King is a cave lion enchanted to be intelligent as a yearling male. He had trouble surviving at first, not using his intelligence, but eventually he figured out how to use it to his advantage, and clawed his way to the top, becoming leader of a small pride of three females, whom he terms his "queens". He gave himself the name king after coming into contact with the world of man, and became infatuated with the concept. King is immensely proud and self-absorbed, but he likes to act noble, often bestowing gifts and helping others, as a true king would act towards his subjects in his mind.

Fun fact, his colorations and the patterns on his face are partially based on a cave lion cub that was mummified.
