Maratus S

  As one of the few insectiod spirits in Curetton Maratus faces ridicule from the other inhabitants for his rarity. Spiders usually resent taking the form of the species that killed them, but Maratus is even rarer in that he wasn't squashed by a human. Despite his claims otherwise, he was cannibalized by another spider in his past life after a failed mating dance. He decided to become an anthro spirit both as an act of rebellion and of fear. He vividly remembers being eaten and never wants to be that small and helpless again. 

  Maratus desperately wants to be seen as cool and desireable in this new life. He hides that his name is 'Orville', wears leather jackets, and commits petty crimes around town. He's become a better dancer and more graceful overall with the help of dance classes. Unfortunately, he still trips over his own two legs when he's nervous: he isn't used to having only two after all. When he's dancing for someone he really likes, however, he defaults back to the Peacock Spider usual... which looks very silly performed by a humaniod. 

  Maratus is a 4'2 humaniod with white skin, black hair, and beady black eyes. He has five eyes in total; two in regular placement and three on his forehead which he covers with his 'rejected Beatle' hairstyle. As a spider anthro, he doesn't have ears and instead uses vibrations through the ground to 'hear'. While talking to others, he supplements this with ASL. He can still speak but possesses a lisp because of his deafness and that he fangs too big he gotdam mouth.

  Maratus usually wears greyscale clothing with the exception of brightly colored/boldly patterned shirts. He wears a worn leather jacket, open in the front to show his colorful chest, and will rapidly flap the sides of the jacket while dancing to create movement and excitement. His preferred footwear is a pair of steel-toed boots he calls his 'squashing shoes' much to the disgust of other insectiods. 

  Maratus frequently wears makeup and his eye shadow is better than yours.

[Dislikes] Being called 'nerdy'/'dork'/'cute'/etc. Authority. Tradition. Orville is personally offended by vore.

[Strengths] Determined. Intelligent. Sneaky. Can see in the dark. Can stick to walls. Can leap tall buildings in single bound. Arm-flailing. 

[Weaknesses] Clumsy. Insecure. Is a major asshole. Crowds. Is easily man-handled because he weighs like 30 lbs soaking wet. 

'Sparklemuffin' is an actual sub-breed of Peacock Spiders. No, I'm not fucking with you.

Maratus is the type of kid who'd break into their neighbor's yard to use their trampoline. That's how he ended up meeting Rachel Washbear.
