Personality:  

Though she may not always act like it, Issun Boshi is quite smart and cunning. She is able to think fast on her feet managing to get herself out of trouble most of the time. She is also fairly nice and tries to be friendly with people unless they give her a reason not to be. Though she won’t force herself to tolerate certain people. She is the most hostile to oni and other yokai due to being an oni slayer of sorts she finds it nearly impossible to trust them.

Bio:
Issun Boshi is a character from a Japanese fairytale of the same name. Though in the actual story Issun Boshi was a guy as a servant Issun Boshi is a girl.

The story goes: Once there was an old couple who wanted children but had none so they prayed to the Sumiyoshi sanjin asking to be blessed with a child and eventually they were. Though she was very small, only about 1.5 inches tall, and thus she got her name. Despite her size, the old couple loved the child very much. No matter how much time passed or how much Isshun Boshi ate she would not grow.

One day Issun Boshi told her parents she wanted to go to the capital to become a warrior. Issun Boshi took a sewing needle as a sword with a piece of straw as a scabbard, a bowl for a boat and a chopstick as an oar and left on her adventure to the capital. First, she travelled to the river that would lead her to the capital and then sailed off with her bowl boat. After travelling down the river sometime she eventually made it to the capital.

Issun Boshi made her way to a fancy house where she figured she could find work and train. She called out at the gate explaining she had come to the train and wanted to work as a servant. Due to her size, the guard did not notice her at first. But, Issun Boshi kept calling until the guard noticed and picked her up off the ground, and took her here to meet the lord of the house.

The lord instantly took a liking to Issun Boshi and made her a retainer. Soon each of the other staff grew to like Issun Boshi as well. Even the lord's daughter soon found herself growing fond of Issun Boshi.

One Day the daughter went out on a walk and was kidnapped by oni. Issun Boshi attempted to save the girl and was instead swallowed whole by it. But, Issun Boshi was small and used her size to her advantage and started to poke the inside of the oni's stomach with her sewing needle sword. The oni then surrendered due to the pain and the oni spat Issun Boshi out and returned to the mountains. The oni had dropped something in his retreat, it was the magic hammer Uchide no kozuchi. The hammer is able to grant anyone's wish, soIssun Boshi wished to be taller, with a swing of the hammer, and grew to be 182 cm tall. She then married the daughter.

Now in a proper height and as a skilled swordswoman, Issun boshi took up slaying oni and other malevolent yokai.

Uchide no Kozuchi, more commonly called the lucky hammer in english, is a magical hammer/mallet that is said to grant wishes when it is swung. The riches will not always last however as it’s said they disappear at the sound of a bell toll. The hammer belongs to Daikoku-ten, but often ends up in the hands of oni. It has been used in different stories as far as back ‘The Tale of Heike’ perhaps even farther.

The hammer is what keeps issun at her current height.

Passive skills:
Magic Resistance C: Increases own debuff resistance by 15%.

Riding B: Increases own Quick performance by 8%.

Active skills:
Short Stature: Increase attack of all allies for three turns
further increase attack of all allies under 5’0 for three turns

Issun Boshi's true size is only that of about 2 inches tall. She hates this fact about her and would rather no one ever see her in such a state. Normally she can remain at her preferred height of 6’0 feet so long as she is in possession of Uchide no kozuchi.

Needle Point: increase own art card effectiveness for one turn.

Issun Boshi sword was a plain old sewing needle with a piece of straw for the scabbard. Even after she was turned to a more normal height she continued to use a blade that looked similar to a sewing needle.

In the proper recorded story of issun boshi she never killed the oni only poked it until it spat her back up. However, after all this, she did take up her needle sword to bring down oni and other problem yokai throughout the area.

Issun has knowledge of many different characters from Japanese mythology and stories and has next to no knowledge of any Japanese person that can be proven to have been alive.

Does not get along with Suzuka in the slightest and finds her a hassle to deal with. Issun doesn’t understand Suzuka's whole school girl in search of love persona. Most of all she can't understand why Suzuka is a furry (fox) now.
