Ulric of Gettlinge

Ulric was turned into a werewolf at 12 after being attacked while alone in the woods. Disgusted by their curse, their parents sent them away somewhere where they would be separate from society, from the full moon, and from fiery emotions: A monastery of wizards, cloistered and under a vow of silence. They studied all types of magic and had the ability to help Ulric control their bestial nature.

There Ulric learned to tame the beast, to cage it away inside of themselves and never let it out. They were first just a cleaner and a doer of chores, but before long they had been promoted to being a scrivener, transcribing copies of spellbooks and history books. This sparked a passion for magic within them, and before long they were studying as an acolyte of Abjuration.

Many wizards who are playing characters are above average- exceptional cases who crack the secrets of the arcane within a year or two. Ulric, however, took decades until they were able to produce a passable cantrip. Now as a level one wizard, they are hoping that once the stopper has been uncorked, the magic will flow more freely.
