nadja was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, raised from birth to be the heir to the markov estate, every bit as powerful as his two fathers intended him to be. he enjoyed castle life, for now — there were so many people and he was small enough that everything felt too big, but it was also frighteningly lonely. most days were passed with a tutor, and nadja proved to be every bit of a prodigy his family believed him to be, earning a vision at a young age. still, he yearned for more.

sneaking outside the castle walls of the markov estate proved to be an eye-opening experience. there, he met a then-young mateo trying to steal wintry plums from their gates, and demanded that he show him around the town in exchange for not telling anyone. after that, the two became fast friends, before one day mateo had disappeared without a trace. that gave valentina an idea too, one that they would soon follow.

present

"valentina" runs away from home when he sees it fit enough and instead uses his knowledge of alchemy and magic to try and help the people of snezhnaya, ever on a journey to follow where mateo went and to reunite with him. he cuts his long hair short to help with the disguise and effectively goes undercover to see the world.
