Skills & Abilities

Skill 1
Controls and manipulates fire, heat, and light.

Skill 2
Does not require oxygen to live, allowing for flight through all atmospheres including outer space.

Skill 3
Feathers and fur glow depending on the circumstances. She glitters like ice, but in truth her body radiates an intense heat. Whether or not she is safe to touch depends on if her eyes glow as well.

Skill 4
Can use fire as a teleport. Mainly used to jump from the surface of a planet to space.

Skill 5
Fire breath comes in three colours; blue, purple and magenta. Valkyrie's blue fire is about 15,000 Kelvin, the intensity of a star. Magenta is the most intense flame she can produce and is only used outside of Earth's atmoshphere, being too hot for surrounding matter to handle. Her purple fire doesn't produce much heat and is debated whether to be a flame at all. Purple fire can heal any wound and most pathologies.

Valkyrie wasn't always known as Valkyrie. I've been drawing versions of her since preschool, so it's safe to say she's been around since at least 2004. I had no idea what furries even were untill I was 16. Through the years she's undergone many changes. There are designs of Val that vastly differ from one another. My earliest inspiration was The Winged Dragon of Ra; a golden bird-like dragon from an anime I was into as a kid. I believe she just went by "Wing". (I know, very creative). Later, those golden scales and feathers turned to white fur mainly as personal preference, but also because I really liked the Pokemon Reshiram. This version went by Ryuu. Only a few years later Ryuu underwent a dramatic change and exchanged her white fur and feathers for black scales and galaxy-like wings. Anyone familiar with Nightwings from Wings of Fire know what I'm talking about. Ryuu now evolved into Morgan and by then I was heavy into RP.

Before finding furries I never commissioned any art; I didn't know that was a thing. There's fanart of Morgan from people I RPed with but that's about it. Discovering the Furry Fandom was the catalyst that sparked the latest change to her design, and the one that would be most recognizable to her current appearance. 7 years ago, I discovered furries and Valkyrie evolved from Morgan. Val 1.0 was very gryphon-like. She had a mane of feathers instead of a crest, scaled feet and hands, and a tail that was more raptor-like. She also changed back to her white fur and feathers. These changes weren't inspired by any outside source, it was just personal preference and also what I thought would be a more fursuit-friendly design. I didn't think you could make a "fur"suit for a scaled character. She could've stayed black but the colour white represents more of what I like. I guess I also liked the symbolism of the colour. This translated heavily into Val 2.0 where there's significance to almost every aspect of her design.

Valkyrie 2.0 is a "Celestial" Dragon. Celestial means relating to the sky, outerspace, heaven, ect. The colour white is associated with light, goodness and purity. It's also the colour of snow, and I LOVE snow (even though her element is fire). Actually, her eyes were originally violet but the artist I commissioned for my first fursuit partial mistakenly made them blue so I stuck with it. (I never got a WIP of the suit so by the time she arrived it was too late for me to correct said artist) Her wing shape is modeled after an osprey which is one of my favourite animals. I even made her height a number that corresponds to a significant year. Needless to say, a lot of heart and soul went into Valkyrie 2.0 and I don't foresee her changing any time soon.
