Micah

When he was young, Micah lived in the wild with his pride, but after a disagreement with his brother, he was left gravely injured. He was rescued by tourists on safari and brought to an animal hospital. Because of his injuries, both arms had to be amputated, and with no natural defenses left he was deemed unable to return to the wild.

He was shipped off to a zoo for a time until it became clear he was too miserable in that environment. He was eventually placed in the care of a rescue center where he lived for years. Despite his appearance he is a very friendly fellow and became the favorite of the employees and volunteers. During his time there he picked up on human speech and when, after he'd had a stroke, he overheard them talking about putting him down, he waited until the most opportune moment and escaped.

Because of his identifying physical traits, he covers himself up as much as possible to pass for human. His stroke only had a very small effect on his motor functions.
