"People are not born heroes and villains; they're created by the people around them."

Stoic, Logical, Calculating --- Intimidating, Scornful, Villainous

Being the renown villain 'Quantum' doesn't come easy, but it's nothing that Vulcan can't handle. Quantum doesn't often go by his given name, since villain names are supposed to be used more often than not. The few who know his name are those closest to him, but even then he has made it clear that he does not want them using his name in public situations. Extremely intelligent, Quantum's intellect is unmatched, neither by shifters or that of his own kind. With such skills he tends to build elaborate and complex machines that he, either, uses for himself or programs to do his bidding. Those that see his creations will often notice that they match the signature colors of the suit he so often wears. He's also a very stoic man, calm and confident in the face of danger, whether the situation is in his favor or against him entirely. Confident in just about everything he does, those that pick a fight against him will find that he is a worthy opponent.

Vulcan and his brother grew up together in a home that never really felt like their own. Both boys would often speak of their feelings, feelings that they equally shared, but for the sake of their guardians, they never shared their feelings to them. Nevertheless, the boys grew up with them as children do, and ultimately went out into the world once they had outgrown their school days. But neither boy was far from the other, and neither really ever forgot the feelings that they still felt. There was something different about them... but it was something neither Vulcan or his brother could really put a finger on. Until one day, it happened. A stranger came to Vulcan's home when his brother was visiting and claimed to know the two when this stranger was someone Vulcan certainly didn't recognize. The man that came seemed to reach out to place a hand on the boys' shoulders, and then they were immediately transported to a different and fascinating place. The place they were taken to was the home of the Hocreans, a race that was like the normal shifter, but complete with a set of wings in their human-like form. And it was at this time that both Vulcan and his brother realized that they were both of this same species. How could this be so? When they were born of normal parents... Vulcan was the first to voice this question, and it was at this point that they learned their real origin. Their parents had seemingly found themselves 'incapable' of raising children, so they had taken them to the high court. The magistrates thought it best to send the children to a more unique family, one outside of their home, and so dropped the children off at an orphanage in a different city, in a different dimension. Unfortunately, the boys were never adopted. This news, the news of their parents and the court's decision, hit both boys hard, but Vulcan only seemed more affected by this than his brother.

It was at this point that the Hocrean population seemed willing to take them back, so the boys went back, got their things and moved into a strange little place amongst the dimension of the winged people. At first Vulcan felt... normal here. He felt like he belonged, for once in his life. His brother felt the same, too! But the longer they remained, the longer that some of the population began to see them as different, and began to segregate and pick on them. Many refused to speak to them because they thought that they were different enough, being raised by normal humans. Some avoided them because they acted differently, too, different from most Hocreans. Suddenly, Vulcan felt like he did not belong. His brother was better off, for he was always better at blending into crowds and becoming something better than Vulcan was. Vulcan just wanted to belong... and yet he couldn't even belong among the people that were his own species. Bitterness filled his heart as they spewed their awful names at him. For the proceeding years, he tried his best to be more like the resident Hocreans, but whatever he did they still only found fault in him. So his heart grew bitter, and he began to fight back. He retorted with names when they called him names and he spat at them when they spat at him. He began to become a nuisance... and he began to like it.

The Hocrean population began to despite him, and vouched for him to be banned from their land. Fortunately, it was never passed that he would be banned, but the population made it hard enough for him to stay. Eventually he took it upon himself to leave with nothing but the clothes on his back, bringing himself to a different dimension, one he had never been to before. He settled down in a large city named 'Degaldo' and was quick to settle down and continue his schemes. After all... it wasn't like the people here would accept him either. He quickly made himself known after finding an assistant, and proceeded in the following years to continue his mayhem under his new name, 'Quantum'. The city began to fear him before a hero rose to take a stand for the people. And now they fight... on a seemingly regular basis, as superhero and supervillain. Only time will tell who will win.

trivia

1.Does not show his wings often, if ever it's when he feels he's truly alone.

2.Has a pet cheetah... yeah. A very large, unique looking cheetah. Also tends to take other homeless animals.

3.Knows many of the gangs and cartels within the area and has 'meetings' with them to keep them in line.

4.Likes to paint and sells his paintings under a different name. Oddly enough his paints are quite desirable.

5.Likes tinkering with machinery, and experimenting with chemistry. A lot of the time, at home, Quantum looks like a mad scientist.

6.Can travel to other dimensions, like all Hocreans, but doesn't seem intent on leaving this one. Occasionally visits his brother's dimension.
