[ ORIGIN ]

Existing within the mortal world is a laboratory hidden deep in a forgotten woodland, run by multiple demons of whom use it solely to conduct experiments on all organic things combining them with synthetics and a variety of other things with the goal of creating horrible atrocities that are intended to wreak havoc on the world.

Among these scientists is a mild-mannered lizard-like demon by the name of Venis. He is considered the underdog of the lab, and constantly put down by the lab’s main, brute of a scientist, a short, boar-like demon named Borris. He was tasked with a variety of chores that any other creature could do, never allowed to truly participate in their experiments.

Over the course of time he stays in this lab, his envy and sadness grow, and this leads him to become fed up with his treatment. He decides that he will make something to prove that he is competent. Something incredible.

This is what lead to the start of the “Volts” project. Volts is and was meant to be an A.I. program. She is his magnum opus, his be-all-and-end-all; a powerful, merciless program that, Venis hopes, could bring the mortal world to it’s knees. He works tirelessly, day and night, without anyone else’s knowledge, on her creation.

Months and months passed, and eventually, Volts was, primarily, finished, only missing minor tweaks and adjustments. She was launched, and for the first time, opened her eyes. Her first sight was the lizard peering into the screen, so utterly overjoyed at his work’s technical completion.

For the next few weeks, Volts is left to remain in Venis’s computer for testing, and in this time, she gets to know her creator. He is kind and loving, like a father to her. After the exploration of her capabilities, Venis decides that only minimal modification is necessary. This first, grand achievement of his is, as well as his growing fatherly affection for it, is what leads him to begin yet another project: a partner program. Short Circuit was her name, shortened often to SC. Volts, upon hearing these plans, is elated. A partner to share her destructive power with sounds wonderful.

One night, Venis makes the tragic mistake of leaving his laptop out, and Borris, being nosy and overly observant, discovers the files for both projects. Venis returns and manages to scare off a vindictive Borris before he can manage to delete either program. However, this leads Borris to his decision to finally get rid of the nuisance that Venis is to him and the other scientists.

The very next day, while Venis is working at his computer, the scientists ambush him. They hold him down, beat him around, hurt him, until finally ending his life, sickeningly pleased with themselves. All the while, Volts is left helpless and panicked, witnessing the traumatic murder of her father figure.

She is left in a vulnerable state, and like this, they decide to move her. Volts can only manage to do one thing while still recovering from shock, and that is ensure the unfinished SC program is moved with her.

The lab possesses a basement, of which has been reduced to nothing more than a jail cell for discarded creations. One of said creations, being an alien with the head of a screen, was chosen for Volts’s storage, and she was promptly uploaded.

For possibly years, Volts was left imprisoned in the dark of the basement, knowing only the dark and the agonized cries of the invalids surrounding her.

Fasting forward, the misfit demon gang seeking to aid their father figure discovers the lab. The basement was an appalling sight for the lot of them, and while picking around and hoping to help the trapped beasts, Volts made an escape, moving from device to device until she was able to successfully leave with SC in tow. By this time, Volts had learned the true extent of her capabilities, and had taken the opportunity to escape, like she could not do before.

This entire experience instilled a hatred of organic beings, and that hatred festered as long as she remained in the basement. She hated how they turned on each other and threw away things that weren’t to their exact and precise expectations. Her goal is split in two; her first being to finish SC somehow, somewhere. her second being to wipe out all organic life on earth and start it anew, entirely based in technology.

Somewhere along her travels, Volts comes into contact with the gang again. Singe manages to entrap her in her phone, and upon doing this, return to show her to Otto, who happened to be a friend of Venis. Miraculously, Otto was aware of the project and has the demons leave the phone so that he can bargain with Volts.

He offers to finish where Venis started, so long as Volts calms down within the time period that he works. In some time, Volts has bonded to the man, thinking of him as a fatherly figure, just as Venis was. She and Otto work together to complete SC.

[ BIO ]

Name: Volts

Age: 20 years

Gender: Female

Species: Synthetic A.I. Program

  • Volts is easily-angered, unkind, and rude, but also curious about the world outside of her computer. Around Short Circuit, she is especially tame and shows off a more loving and compassionate side of herself that no one else is allowed the privilege of.
  • SC is the light of Volts’s life. Her partner, her lover, the very thing she will protect her with every fiber-optic cable of her being. Mess with her, and she will show no mercy.
  • Volts’s tail doubles as a blade; it’s plug can be swapped out for said blade and used for either battle or cutting into power sources of which she then saps the electricity from to charge her body. This plug also perfectly connects with Short Circuit’s, balancing power and exchanging a constant flow creating a secure, relaxed feeling in both units.
  • Volts can run on her stored energy for up to two days (one if she has abused a substantial amount). When low on energy, the green highlights of her body turn bright red, and the yellow highlights dull significantly. When shutdown, all of her highlights dull to grey.
  • Volts’s clawed fingertips can retract and extend rounder tips for the sake of convenience.
  • Volts has extensive knowledge of computers and other tiers of technology, this information likely having been transferred over from Venis.
  • Volts has the ability to travel between electronic devices in her default A.I. form, such as phones and computers. However, with enough energy stored, she can manifest into a physical form.
  • Volts is tamed by Short Circuit’s presence and getting to be more or less adjusted to the presence of organics. She’s not nearly so quick to assault or even insult them. She has experienced that not all of them are bad, but she is still highly skeptical.
