Basic Info

Please Note:

This is just me as a Pokémon character! I fully view her as myself; we are one and the same. While I mostly use first person pronouns, this profile is written in third person to mimic a wiki page.

I am a Yume (selfshipper) who genuinely loves Leon, so naturally I draw us together a lot. (He is also mentioned in my profile, and in my library so fair warning.)

If you find any of this "cringe" (derogatory), then please just turn away.

"I don't have anything to put here yet, I just like the spacing lol."

Bee is a knight who is the occasional Gym Leader of Ballonlea's Gym. She specializes in Steel-type Pokemon.

Personality

A self proclaimed Knight who vows to protect her castle.. when in actuality, she's just a gym leader in a costume.

While in her Gym, which is themed after a Medieval RPG, Bee plays the role of a knight in shining armor. The trainers in her Gym play various roles, each claiming to be protecting their castle and hoping to prevent the Gym Challengers from progressing further. Each of the trainers, including Bee, come across as Chuunibyou, fully committing to their specific “class,” and often speaking with cheesy Old English phrases.

Outside of her Gym, Bee can still come across as rather peculiar. She's committed to her Gym Leader persona and so plays up for crowds and cameras, leading some fans to think that she genuinely believes that she's a knight. In actuality, she just enjoys her knight role as she aspires to be someone who can both be an inspiration and genuinely help others. As such, much of her personal downtime is spent helping out at Galar's nurseries. She'll do what she can to help anyone in need, believing it's her duty to make up for her time hanging around Team Aqua in her past.

In the core series games

Though never being referred to by name, several NPCs talk about Bee during the course of both the main storyline and the post-game storyline. For example, a child in Ballonlea Gym mentions how their older sibling faced off against a knight during their Gym Challenge as Opal was absent.

Bee makes her official appearance during The Crown Tundra.

Instead of her usual knight inspired take on the Steel-type Gym Uniform, she wears a padded jumpsuit similar to that which Peony wears. For this reason, it isn't obvious that she is the Steel-type Gym Leader until the player receives her League card.

In the story The Sacred Bonds of Sovereign and Steed!, Bee accompanies the player as a guide of sorts while Peony is with Calyrex. While she is less interested in Legendaries, she is happy to give support where needed and will offer to heal the player's team while out on the field.

League Cards

This is the transcript of Bee’s League Cards in Pokémon Sword and Shield.

Normal League Card

“Bee is the current Steel-type Gym Leader. Treated as being in the League's Minor Division, she is in fact entrusted as Opal’s substitute should she be away for whatever reason. Bee doesn't actually hold any interest in running her Gym outside of Ballonlea, and is said to have taken up the position hastily upon returning to the region after spending some time in Hoenn. She often tasks herself with helping out behind the scenes at the Stadium, as a loyal knight should. Those who have had the pleasure of facing off against her during the Gym Challenge have trouble deciphering whether she genuinely believes she's a knight, or if she's just really into her role.”

Rare League Card

“With the success of the Battle Tower, it's no surprise that someone so determined to help out wherever possible would often be on the scene. But with the former Champion seeming happier than he's ever been, and the Steel-type Gym Leader frequently sighted by his side, people seem to wonder if there's something more at play. Bee would deny this immediately, giving some sort of fantastical speech about how she's just carrying out her duties as Galar’s resident knight, but Leon on the other hand plays none the wiser, telling how he enjoys her company. As such, the pair are often dubbed as the Prince and his Knight.”

Pokémon

Bee keeps her Pokémon in Dusk Balls.

In spin-off games

Pokémon Masters EX

Bee is a Pokémon Trainer in Pokémon Masters EX, based on the character of the same name in the core series games. She forms a sync pair with Corviknight. The sync pair can be obtained through a limited sync pair scout, and was first available on xx/xx/20xx. The pair's potential can be upgraded to 6★ EX from when the pair was first released, which unlocks Bee's EX Style.

Bee also forms a sync pair with her Morgrem. This pair can be obtained by reaching Friendship Level 100 with Bee in the Trainer Lodge.

Trivia

  • Bee is the first DLC character from Pokémon Sword and Shield to appear in Pokémon Masters EX.
  • Since version 2.19.0, all versions of Bee use special voice-over lines upon entering a team that contains certain Trainers (regardless of their partner Pokémon). As of that version, those Trainers include Leon, Sonia and the other Galarian gym leaders.
  • Bee also uses special voice-over lines upon winning a battle with Leon, Raihan or Sonia in the same team.

Origin

Bee’s design is based on her appearance in Pokémon Sword and Shield. Corviknight is Bee's signature Pokémon in the core series.

Morgrem is a Pokémon Bee has as a companion in the core series games.

Trivia

  • Bee's uniform number is "931", which can be read in Japanese as goroawase for kusai, meaning "stinky" (to represent her Morgrem), and "clumsy" (to represent herself).
  • Despite having Honedge on her Gym team, it doesn't appear in her prior teams. It's implied that the Aegislash on Leon's team is the evolved form of Bee's Pokémon.

Names

I don't plan on deciding what different name Bee has in each Language, but like how all of Leon's names derive from "Dandelion", all of Bee's name's derive from "Burdock"!

My reasoning for this is that I prefer not to use my birth name. Since I go by "B" in real life, it makes sense for my self insert to also shorten her name while not using her birth name. I chose Burdock partly because it fits in with the plant naming scheme, but also because "Dandelion and Burdock" is a beverage here in the UK, lol.
