Jasper

Personality:

Jasper is, unfortunately, the classic overconfident, arrogant man who's little disregard for another's well-being is matched with his large ego. He does well to play the victim in order to take advantage of others, and is incapable of trusting others, even those he once considered as close friends. 

Background:

Jasper was, a long time ago, a scientist who worked alongside a small crew to investigate the curious nature of demons. The crew was tight-knit, cared for one another, and all and all, were the sort of 'family' that Jasper did not have due to the fact that he was separated from his parents at a young age. 

However, one day, a mysterious benefactor appears to fund their research, and the crew readily accepts. However, Jasper quickly learns of what the true goal of their benefactor is -- to research the ability to change one's form with the power that demons wield by any means necessary. While one of their coworkers, Finn, also catches on, the other crew members slowly succumb to the painful, dangerous, and deadly experiments that they are put under. Eventually, all who's left of the original crew, aside from Jasper and Finn, is Vera, who is assigned to Jasper to fine-tune the experimental powers Vera now wields.

Years later, Jasper maintains the city's hospital, which houses the much more secret underground lab where various experiments are held. However, he is caught off guard when a prior crew member, Nat, returns from their adventures to find out that the rest of the crew has, mysteriously, 'left to continue their work at a better-funded area.' This lie is soon unraveled by Nat's friend, Aislind, and together, they investigate the underground lab. Jasper, furious, sends Vera at first to take care of them, but when she doesn't get the job done, he tries to stop them himself but, being weaker than Vera, easily falls and is captured. 

After giving Aislind and their gang some degree of information, Jasper spends his life in jail, with his later years having him become more markedly puzzling and cryptic to understand.

Other Info:

• Jasper's arms are robotic, and were made by their benefactor as an experiment. After showing his worth, however, no further experiments were performed on him.
• Marcel and him are half-siblings, both having a very bad dragon laguz dad who treated them both pretty badly. 
• He's just a really bad man, trust me on this
