Quiet, serious. Seems very apathetic--and mostly is--but he takes his duties very seriously. He's goal oriented and will never say or promise anything unless he means it. (Tho he doesn't say much of a word to begin with...) He can have a bit of a hot-blooded streak if worked up enough, but it takes /a lot/.
Most of the species lives further away at sea, refusing to interact with land dwellers. There are a few branches, however, that do choose to live nearer the surface and confront people of the continent for trade, including Kaivel's. His original home is positioned relatively close to the costal trading capital, Pantelle, and frequently interacts with the city.
Eventually, Kaivel left to join the port city's guard as an ambassador, of sorts, of good relations between the two locations.
His primary job now is to attend any busness involving aquatic relations, although he is mostly there as a messenger or guard for another of his species, than as an actual diplomat himself. Kaivel also does some guarding around the city as a sob job, mostly to help the Pantelle officials out. Additionally, he would be tasked as 'body guard' to any aquatic ambassadors planning to travel around the continent, there be need for it.
In his spare time, he often visits the harbor or people watches, meandering around randomly. He's quite introverted, but not shy. Kaivel just prefers to observe others, and mostly is just too apathetic to bother with interaction 80% of the time. He prefers staying busy, though. Having tasks and jobs so he can go through the motion and not have to stand still. He is always a bit lost when he doesn't have any official duties or chores to do.
