"What is the feeling of 'first love'?"

Under the blooming cherry blossoms, Ai planned to confess his first love. They were both in highschool, the boy being one year his senior. It was a very picturesque spring day, like something out of a romance movie- only this one lacked a happy resolution. On the walk to school, Ai called to his crush excitedly, ready to release the butterflies in his stomach in the form of words. But just as the other student turned around, he would witness a fleeting moment of Ai's bright eyes and hopeful smile, right before his swift demise.

It was a vehicle gone off-road, the driver had lost control and Ai died in the accident. A rare occurrence, but still an accident that had a casualty, later appearing in the news along with many others. When he woke up in his new form, Ai briefly recalled the impossibly fast series of events, and realised his feelings would remain unknown. That fact alone, to him, was a tragedy far worse than his own death. Ai continued to go to school- not to pay attention to lessons or do schoolwork, but to be closer to the boy he loved, even just for a little while until he graduated. He watched him every day, his precious feelings of first love never to be heard.
