Oct 21, 20. 100 themes: away. Tamu was originally inside a large, leathery egg. It was stored high up on some dry, arid mountains in a building that was part crazy-old-guy's-collection, part museum. The glass case it was placed in kept it preserved, but some visitors to the building chipped a corner off and elected not to say anything, fearing they'd get in major trouble. After a while of being exposed to the air, Tamu hatched from his egg and started trying to get out of the case, ultimately cutting himself on the broken glass. The owner of the building was shocked and horrified to discover what looked like a monster-person trying to break out come hell or high water. Thus, Tamu was chained up by his tail on a rocky flat space a short ways away from the museum. The chain was very long and he was able to duck into a nearby cave for shelter and shade. He grew up like this, surviving of berries, mushrooms, small animals, and whatever the frightened owner would throw at him. As such, he cannot speak and only makes dragon-y noises
Eventually, he broke his chain through years of throwing rocks at it. He flew away until he couldn't see the mountain he came from anymore. And now he's...not really sure what to do
