Mai is a Con Artist and because of this, her true personality is all but hidden to anyone other than Destery.
To everyone else she comes across as confident and welcoming. She knows how to play the part required for any con necessary.
As much as she enjoys her time alone, she becomes lonely and anxious easily due to being alone a lot as a child.
She plays her part well when working, then spends her money resting afterwards and keeping low. There are parts to her that she keeps secret even to Destery.
He's intimated by this, she loves it.

CURRENT DAY:
A con artist through and through, Mai spends her days earning money in less than legal ways.
Over the years she has perfected her acting skills and uses them to scam people out of money and information both online and off.
She strives to live a life of luxury and believes that conning people is one of the funnest ways to achieve that goal. She currently owns an apartment in Omega (where she was born) but spends her time travelling more than anything. Often after a con, she'll often spend time at one of her casual lover's apartments but most notably Destery's mansion in Alpha, her life long friend, lover and partner in crime.
The two have recently began working together, using Mai's con-artistry and Destery's underground connections and reputation.
The two however weren't prepared for the offer of a lifetime.....

BACKSTORY:
Mai was unlucky compared to Destery. She was born to a very sad, poor and abusive household in the outskirts of Omega city. Her parents were constantly fighting, making back up, leaving each other, making up ect
Mai was an accident and her mother would make sure she knew it, especially when drunk. Eventually her dad left for good and her mum was forced to look after Mai alone.
By the time Mai was 10, her mother began to try just a little harder be enrolling her in school. That was where the love ended however, she still hated to pay for food and clothing and expected the school to raise her.
Mai would often run from school or home, and one day found herself outside the backyard of a boy named Destery. The two hit it off instantly and were inseparable ever since. Destery's parents soon began to care for Mai like their own child when they discovered her living situation.
Even though Mai's parents were uncaring and cruel, Destery's would allow Mai to stay over often and look after her anyway possible. Whether it be through new clothes, toys or food.
As they aged and the two went through puberty, a typical teenage romance was beginning to form between the two. Both were very shy and afraid of ruining what they had as friends.
But before the two of them could properly confess and go any further than hugs and hand holding, Destery and his family were forced to move and left Mai behind, hoping that maybe now she was able to make it on her own.
This broke everyones hearts, and Mai was sure she would never see Destery again.

Unfortunately without any guardians or friends, Mai fell into the wrong groups of people and it did not take long for her to drop out of school and pick up skills that would lead to con-artistry.
For a time she was bitter and in an effort to keep herself from getting lonely she would become quite casual romantically/casually to fill the void. It was only a matter of time before she became better at what she did than those who taught her. And from there on out she would gain riches, travel the world and eventually even run into Destery.
