Personality

Positive Traits
positive >
    >> Charismatic > Rosefall loves to talk and be social, regardless of clan or cat. She knows how to start a conversation as well as keep a conversation going. If tension needs to be released, Rosefall can do it. Just let her do the talking.
    >> Intuitive > Her mind is quick and so are her feet. Rosefall doesn't need to think about what she does before she does it. And if she does need to think, she thinks fast. There is never a moment to lose for Rosefall, and her mind is always moving.
    >> Optimistic > No matter how ruthless her personality may be, Rosefall always has a toothy grin on her face. She believes in thinking positively and never letting negative thoughts and emotions get to her.

neutral >
    >> Competitive > Rosefall is all about competition. Being able to compete and beat others drives her to do better. While this helps her improve herself more, it makes it hard to talk to her about accomplishments or one's self without her trying to top them. She can be quite difficult to talk to about goals, as well.
    >> Ambitious > When she isn't competing with others, Rosefall is setting herself goals to beat. She is always striving to do better, so where some cats may do day-to-day tasks like hunting casually, Rosefall will set a goal for herself to catch a certain amount of prey. If she doesn't succeed, she doesn't wallow; she just sets her goal higher.
    >> Flamboyant > Whatever Rosefall does, she has to do it in style. She wants to make a name for herself, and that means going all-out in everything she executes. This, however, can lead to some mistakes, especially if she ends up focusing on looking her best more than what she's actually tasked to do.

negative >
    >> Stubborn > Rosefall has a hard head and is a tough nut to crack. Once she has made up her mind, there is no going back. You can argue with her for however long you want, but even if valid points are made, Rosefall will rebuke and find another reason that her thoughts are better or right. There is simply no stopping her.
    >> Argumentative > On top of being great at talking, Rosefall is just as good at arguing. She is the type that gets into another's face in the middle of a verbal fight, and even after the actual argument is done, her distaste is still brewing in her mind as she thinks of all the other ways she could've kept the argument going and still won it.
    >> Haughty > When it comes to her own ego, Rosefall has a bit too big of one. She believes that her presence is a blessing to others and that anyone should be thankful to fight alongside her. Because of this, she tends to look down on others, all the while giving them advice on how she would've done whatever they did.

kithood [ 0 - 6 moons ] >
    Rosekit was born alongside her two siblings, Peachkit and Lotuskit, to EmberClan warriors Cherrypetal and Lycanfang. From the start, she was a rambunctious kit, crying loudly when she was born. She would make it clear in explicit noise when she needed something, and she loved the attention. Her littermates were less so, which was fine with her. She found ways to keep herself busy, like sneaking out of the nursery when her parents weren't looking.
    This was how the young kit found out about issues with the Storm. Her parents had worked hard to keep the outside world's issues outside of the kits' lives, but Rosekit's curiosity wouldn't let that stop her. She heard the warriors of EmberClan gossiping about the concerns with the rogues and how their invasion in CloudClan could impact EmberClan. Rosekit wanted to hear more about it, but any time she asked someone, they would tell her she was too young, or she'd get dragged away by her parents. This never stopped her from continuing the try, though.
    In addition to the talk about the Storm, the clan was also in the process of dealing with a leadership change. Otterstar, the leader at the time of Rosekit's birth, had been killed in patrol, and her deputy, Minnowfin, became leader. She chose Wildblossom for her deputy. None of this really mattered to Rosekit, though. That news was a lot more boring than whatever she could catch wind of with the Storm.
    Shortly after Otterstar's death and Minnowstar's rise, EmberClan joined the other clans in the final battle against the Storm. They succeeded in killing the Storm's leader and driving them out, and it was the talk of camp for the next few moons. It left Rosekit's parents little choice but to let her hear it all (they were at least thankful she wouldn't have to deal with it when she left the nursery), and she was all in on the gossip and stories. She would be found weaving herself under the warriors to hear their tales of how they beat the Storm, and when they didn't have time, she would go tell her littermates everything she learned, even if they weren't as interested as her.
nbsp;   About a moon later, Minnowstar stepped down to become a permanent queen, and Wildblossom became leader. She chose Shadowrunner for her deputy. Rosekit, like before, wasn't as interested in this as the Storm stories, but at least she knew who would be giving her her mentor. She hoped for someone great; maybe a warrior that made a name of themselves in the battle with the Storm! That would be cool.
    Other than her persistence on wanting to know the clan gossip, Rosekit's kithood was quite normal. At one point, she had attached herself to a slightly older cat by the name of Cricketpaw, who had become an apprentice a couple of moons before her. She found him as a great rival and was constantly challenging him, much to the dismay of the tom. And, unfortunately for him, it would only get worse when Rosekit, herself, became an apprentice.

apprenticeship [ 6 - 12 moons ] >
   Just when it seemed like she and her littermates would be unable to fit in the nursery anymore, it was finally time for Rosekit, Lotuskit, and Peachkit to become apprentices. Their brother went first, being given the name of Lotuspaw with Currentdive for a mentor. Then her sister, Peachpaw, with Monarchpool. Both of their mentors seemed so cool, and Rosekit was praying that she would get someone just as awesome.
    After receiving the name Rosepaw, she was given a senior warrior by the name of Bristlethorn for her mentor. She had heard of him from the Storm stories, so she knew he was there for the final battle. So that meant he was a cool warrior, right? Her first impressions said otherwise. The old tom seemed to be quite the loner and didn't associate with the clan very much, so she didn't know much about him outside of what she heard in the stories. But his prefix fit not only his fur but his attitude. He seemed pretty irritated to get an apprentice, and he was grumpy beyond imaginable. Rosepaw could tell it was going to be a long apprenticeship for both her and the older warrior.
    It seemed that, despite winning against them, the battle against the Storm had hardened the old warrior. Bristlethorn was incredibly narrow-minded when it came to Rosepaw's training. When she heard the positives of the win against the Storm as a kit, Bristlethorn would tell her all of the terrible, traumatic parts of the Storm that would have been kept from kits. He would tell her every time they trained about the deaths the clans experienced, or the trauma cats lived with losing their sight or hearing, and she never heard the end of it. Bristlethorn kept nothing from her, training her vigorously in battle and defense, and less so in hunting. Because of this, she fell behind in her hunting, her littermates becoming exceedingly better than her in the art. It frustrated her at first, but if she complained, he would tell her that slacking off would put her in the same situation as all those that didn't get so lucky in the battles. So she followed Bristlethorn's every direction, albeit, often reluctantly.
    Despite Bristlethorn's paranoia, Rosepaw's apprenticeship remained relatively uneventful. At least, for her it did. Many cats during her time as an apprentice began to expect kits, including Shellsky and Drizzlesong, two senior warriors. And then Cricketpaw became a warrior, being named Cricketstorm. This irritated Rosepaw; he was a good training partner. They pushed each other to their limits, and he was the only one that could keep up with Rosepaw's ferocity. With him a warrior, she didn't have that anymore. Not that she didn't continue to pester him and, therefore, continue to train with him. Bristlethorn didn't seem to have an issue with this, knowing Cricketstorm brought the fire out of Rosefall.
    During her apprenticeship was when Wildstar had fallen through the ice of the lake, along with a warrior by the name of Kindlestorm. Kindlestorm had not survived, and Wildstar dealt with whitecough as a result of the fall. She was never quite the same after that, and Rosepaw didn't miss the signs of it. She had become cautious of Wildstar as she began to act strangely, but didn't quite show it, not wanting to feign any form of disloyalty.
    It was towards the end of Rosepaw's apprenticeship that CloudClan scent was being spread to other territories. The scent had not yet made it to EmberClan's territory, yet, though, so it was not their issue. Rather, Rosepaw, alongside Lotuspaw, Peachpaw, and Snow-whisker's kits, Stormpaw, Frostpaw, and Nightpaw, who had trained alongside them, had to prepare to become warriors. It was something Rosepaw was looking forward to from the moment Bristlethorn became her mentor. She even listened to him more in her last moon just to pass her assessment and get her name. So when he deemed her ready, she was beyond excited to get out of the apprentices' den.

warriorhood [ 12 - present moons ] >
   Finally, after what seemed like forever, it was her turn to become a warrior. She could finally take over her life more and be who she wanted to be, not Bristlethorn's ideal warrior. Her littermates were named Lotusbreeze and Peachfur respectfully. And her? She was given the name Rosefall. It was graceful, like her, and she loved the thrill she felt as everyone called out her name.
    A warrior name doesn't protect you from illness, though, no matter how big or small. The night of her and her littermates' vigil was cold and bitter, and Rosefall came down with a brief case of whitecough. She had never been ill before, and it was a feeling she dreaded. She was confined to the medicine den as she recovered to prevent others catching it, and she was restricted as to what she could do. She decided this would be the only time she got sick, and after she recovered, Rosefall worked hard to keep herself healthy, including morning walks and exercises. She still does her routines to this day, and they seem to work so far.
    It was around the time she was made a warrior when the CloudClan scents had begun to pop up on EmberClan territory. Rosefall found it quite strange, with CloudClan's territory being so far away. Why would they bother coming all the way to EmberClan to steal prey? Many of her clanmates shared these thoughts, but not Wildstar. No, their leader felt it necessary to accuse CloudClan at a gathering about the scents. And then she banned rogues from coming on their territory, including Dropletshine. This angered Rosefall, knowing that Dropletshine was innocent and had nothing to do with the prey stealing. It was around then that she had already lost any form of loyalty towards Wildstar. But EmberClan was her clan, so she would still fight for it. Even if that meant in war.
    Yes, Wildstar decided that the issue was so catastrophic that they needed to go to war. Nevermind the issues that EmberClan was dealing with without the war, like Cricketstorm's mother dying. She wanted to be there for her rival, but he was nowhere to be found after Lakebreeze's death. Rosefall grew suspicious of this, but she didn't have time to think about it. Her instincts were to prepare for the war, courtesy of Bristlethorn's training.
    It took a long while for the war to really pick up, though. There were border skirmishes, many of which Rosefall was a part of due to taking part in border patrols more than hunting parties. But then EmberClan's deputy, Shadowrunner, was mysteriously killed. No one could find traces of his murderer, but that was the least of their concerns, because Wildstar had declared over his body that she would not announce a new deputy. This shocked the entire clan, and Rosefall's anger towards the leader only strengthened. She was not much of a religious cat, but there was a code that they had to abide by. To not name a deputy would go against the values of StarClan and their identities as clan cats! But who was she to protest as Wildstar formed her council? After all, Rosefall was just a warrior.
    Shadowrunner's death seemed to kick off the war because there never seemed to be a moment to rest or a border patrol without tensions. The border skirmishes would sometimes turn into full-on battles, and cats began to die. Rosefall would later learn that every clan lost cats to the war, but at the time of the war, she only knew of the deaths in HailClan and, of course, EmberClan. She had heard of the border battles with HailClan that she did not participate in, and while EmberClan often came out with only injuries, she would hear about how HailClan had lost a warrior or an apprentice in the fights. Then, at one point, cats that came back from those border fights would lose the battle with their injuries, dying later on in the medicine den. It all upset Rosefall, despite the thrill she felt when fighting. No one was supposed to die. Wasn't it in the code that a warrior did not need to kill to win?
    Things only got worse. One day, Wildstar had returned to camp dragging the body of their medicine cat apprentice, Heatherbounce. The clan was appalled; they had all heard the arguing of the leader and medicine cat outside of camp, but they did not expect anything to escalate out of it. Come to find out, Heatherbounce was killed by a snake instead, though it was clear that Rosefall and some of her clanmates found it hard to trust Wildstar.
    Then the day came. It started with another border battle, one of which Rosefall had unintentionally attended. It started as mere tension, with both patrol leaders from HailClan and EmberClan wanting nothing bad to come out of it. But it all fell apart quickly, and chaos ensued. Rosefall had joined the fight as usual, though it lasted for less than previous battles when Drizzlesong's cries suddenly pierced her ear. Shellsky was killed in the battle, and it ended just as quickly as it had started. EmberClan took their dead back home, defeated and in mourning for their senior warrior. But the day was not over yet.
    When they returned, the clan waited for them in anticipation and erupted with grief when they walked in with Shellsky's body. The only one that didn't seem to grieve was Wildstar, who reacted neutrally as if they were bringing back prey on a good hunting day. She attempted to move on from the death quickly, but Drizzlesong, and in turn the entire clan, did not allow her that luxury. This time, no one was on Wildstar's side--even her so-called council turned against her. Too much loss and pain had been caused by her war, and they all had come to realize she was nothing good for EmberClan. After the uprising of EmberClan against her and a brief fight between her and Drizzlesong, Wildstar--Wildblossom--was exiled from EmberClan.
    Though they were without a leader, EmberClan pressed on. Those that had been injured in the war worked hard to recover while the clan worked hard to function without any means of authority. They avoided the border while they worked to build themselves back up, minimally marking the border and focusing, instead, on their own clan. Rosefall, too, began to contribute as best she could in the efforts. She was never good at hunting, but she figured she could do her best, else she joined the border patrols. Thankfully, the clan didn't go long without a leader.
    Approximately a moon later, EmberClan came to the decision to appoint Reedshine as their new leader. And surprisingly, they chose Rosefall's brother, Lotusbreeze, for their deputy. Rosefall did not expect it in the least, though she figured it wasn't a terrible choice. After having such a terrible leader previously, perhaps it would be good for the clan to have two peaceful and calm authority figures. In addition to their new high ranks, Reedstar also officially declared the war over at their first gathering as leader. It seemed moons of tension were released from everyone's shoulders with those words, yet the sorrow in the loss of clanmates was also cast over everyone's faces all the same. Still, they were able to put this nightmare past them and move forward to, hopefully, a brighter future.
   Things began to return to normal for EmberClan. With Wildblossom gone, trust and loyalty began to build back up among clanmates, and Rosefall began to feel more at ease in her home again. She enjoyed watching her brother take charge. Outside of her own life, the clan life progressed well. New kits were born, apprentices were made. It truly felt like old times.
    Time flew by and those kits became apprentices, too. Both Lotubreeze and Peachfur got one of them for their own apprentices, leaving Rosefall a bit in the dust. She didn't express it, but she was admittedly upset having not gotten an apprentice of her own yet. Even Cricketstorm had one before! Sure, the apprentice passed away shortly after, but he was entrusted with one and not her? She had to convince herself that she was simply being saved for an apprentice that would have great potential.
    In addition to this, Hurricanewatcher had chosen one of those kits for his new medicine cat apprentice. It was ideal, given his old age. EmberClan didn't need to be left stranded without a medicine cat like they were without a leader. It felt better knowing they had a new medicine cat apprentice, though Rosefall never really got to know young Yewpaw that well. After all, she avoided the medicine den all the time, and her hard work to stay healthy did excellent work with this.
    And for good reason, too. Out of nowhere, towards the beginning of leafbare, a sudden epidemic of whitecough and greencough broke out across the clans. It had started in HailClan and gradually expanded to the other clans. At first, EmberClan seemed to avoid the epidemic quite well, but then it came in and hit them hard. Many cats got sick, and some even died. Riverpaw, Lavendernose, Snow-whisker, Minnowfin and Bearclaw, many great cats gone. Still, they had to be thankful for the ones that survived. The epidemic caused Rosefall to stay out of camp often, going on as many patrols as she could. When she was in the camp, she sat as far from the medicine den as possible and avoided any potential possibilities of the disease reaching her. For a time, she even avoided Cricketstorm, who had been visiting Lavendernose as his brother slowly lost his battle. It hurt her to see her clanmates suffer, though Rosefall had to feel thankful that she and her littermates were safe from the epidemic.
    About halfway through their epidemic struggles, when leafbare passed and newleaf arrived, the rainfall of storms created heavy flooding. EmberClan had to move further into their camp to avoid the flooding, and they later learned that HailClan had lost their home temporarily to the flooding. In addition to this, they had lost their leader, Kitestar, and Swanstar rose to leadership. Having a border with HailClan, EmberClan of course had to be wary about this change. Rosefall only hoped that Swanstar was more reasonable than Kitestar and would find it in him to be allied with EmberClan in the future.
    At some point, towards the end of the epidemic, Peachfur announced her mateship with a fellow clanmate, Hemlockfang. Rosefall had never seen the two of them interact with each other before, so she was left a bit confused. Nevertheless, she welcomed the new member of their family, secretly praying that he would maybe calm Peachfur and she would stop bugging Rosefall so much about her own life choices.

Relationships

Lotusbreeze {Brother | EmberClan | Alive}

  Her big, lovable brother, Rosefall wouldn't change Lotusbreeze for the world. He is strange in his own ways, and Rosefall can never find it in herself to understand, but that's okay. It works for him. She's immensely proud to see him work alongside Reedstar as EmberClan's deputy, knowing that the two would never let harm come to their clan like in the past. Truly, she is never embarrassed to shout out what a great brother she has.

Peachfur {Sister | EmberClan | Alive}

  She loves her sister, but she is also the one thing that Rosefall fears. Peachfur is a force to be reckoned with, and she learned how to handle Rosefall and her strong personality early on. This means she's one of the few cats that know how to put her in her place when she gets out of hand, and Rosefall does not necessarily appreciate her methods. Still, she loves her sister regardless and has to admit she would probably have done a lot of fishbrained things without her voice of reason.

Cricketstorm {Rival | EmberClan | Alive}

  Rosefall loves to mess with Cricketstorm, and the two often mock battle to keep their skills up. She takes every chance she can to compete with him, and he keeps her on her toes. While she wouldn't exactly say they're friends, they're also not enemies. It's a friendly rivalry. Right?
